This is from a lullaby I made last year out of the melody one of my instrumentals. The melody is from the longest of the three harmonics pieces I posted a while back. Dave will recognize the cadence. It is rather hard to sing since the range of the melody is an octave and a major seventh. It takes an actual singer. Babe in talcum, Close your eyes Sleep is welcome Morning will come With sunrise If you're frightened I'll be near, Senses heightened Until night end Month and year Rock-a-baby On my shoulder When you wake we Will be older, Someday maybe Clown or soldier

My favorites change about every week, but this bridge from a song called Refuge is one of my current favs:Civilization went on vacation And now it’s an animal houseThe dogs of war are knocking on the doorThey say they just want to take the trash outAnd all the cupboards are bare but nobody seems to careThey’re too busy chasing each other around and round…

Casey, the song may not have made it, but save that line! I wrote a whole song, "Runaway Train", just to prove I could write rock. I can't. But I just finished a pretty nice country-folk piece, and used the only salvageable line in the bridge; All the years that I was crazy,A runaway train was just another ride.Scars inside and out from where I never should have been, Wound up here with you right by my side. Thanks og...That song is actually not bad and will one day come off the floor. The only reason I haven't taken it further is it is an ABAB format (no real chorus) song, and I became reluctant to get those recorded way back when I attended "songwriter school" LOL ...BTW, I think an ABAB song CAN make it, the Beatles had lots of them, but there has to be a VERY strong hook very early on. I am not talking about making it in Nashville, just getting usage somewhere.Anyway, back to lyrics... (If we want to talk about ABAB format, we should start another thread). Note: I just did that on Peer to Peer... Casey
