I'm not sure it's available... I'm gonna have to Google. But should my dreams be possible, I'd love to be genetically adopted into this family. Talent doesn't fall far from the tree.. it grows from your bedroom up.Dang,SilenceOoops! Forgot my vote: Song one . Quote:I'm really liking what I've heard from everyone who has posted samples so far. I particularly like Steve's. Nice work at bringing in all the indie elements I thought. But what do I know? Here's what this old geezer came up with, with the help of my kids who are all Green Day fans. This probably turned out more Linken Park-ish, but oh well . . . I did three different vocals:My son (22)http://www.driskellmusic.com/demo/alone ... ale1.htmMy son's friend, Josh (19)http://www.driskellmusic.com/demo/alone ... ale2.htmMy daughter (24)http://www.driskellmusic.com/demo/alone ... tmusername: approvedpassword: listenerAny comments on which one I should update my audio file with?

Steve,I just caught this as I was re-reading posts. Quote:.... and we'll have a look at that melody too.I hope you don't change the melody too much, if at all. It's great as is...

Hey AllJust listened to all tracks in the thread. Here's 2c Dan: really good tune. I totally get 'Boulevard' here and I think you paid particular attention to the lyrical theme. twilsbach: Also a good song. I really like what you've done with the guitars esp. that trem line )I didn't really get the indie artists listed from either of your tunes but time will tell how important that will be. Artists wise I personally find this listing tough to assess.Chris: your right that Shattered nods to the mood of GD . I think the production/mix may trip you up though.Gary: I really liked the vocalist on version 3 (the female vocal): I think the voice is quite captivating at that register. As I said, 2c all 'round.Good luck to y'allLiam

Silence, thanks for the kudos on the family thing. I DO feel blessed! And thanks Liam, for your pick on the vocal tracks.Hey, while we're all waiting for our songs to be listened to for this listing, I was just wondering if any of you have any experience regarding the REAL payoff financially for something like this. I mean the listing said $6000 - $7500. But is it likely that it's really a spec deal where you only end up making that amount of money if the film goes anywhere? Or any other details any of you might have insights about. Just curious. Never licensed a song for a film before. I also noticed the listing said nothing about publishing or copyrights. Is it just assumed that they don't take any of that?

Is it just assumed that they don't take any of that? The way I read it it's really like a "trailer" type use, not actually in the movie. I would assume it's NOT a deferred deal, they pay you the usage fee upon selecting the song. And usually they wouldn't take any publishing, but they might ask for a term limited exclusive (meaning you can't use the song for anything else for a given period of time, or perhaps not for another trailer/ad use).Obviously I have no actual knowledge of this particular company and situation, so I'm somewhat speculating.I don't really know what the normal fees for internet trailer usage are, but this strikes me as rather lucrative, so you can be fairly sure competition will be on the fierce side and they will likely be looking thru a number of avenues besides Taxi as well...Best of luck to all "contestants"
