Anyone using Presonus Studio One
I've had this program sitting on my PC for months and just recently had the opportunity to play around with it. I only have the "Artist" version that I got with my interface, so I can't load any 3rd party plugins unless I upgrade to "Pro" version (not too happy about that, as other DAW allow you to fully test the compatibility of 3rd party plugins before buying).
So far I'm really enjoying the drag and drop feature and how easily and fast I'm getting things done. Would like to know what other folks think about it before plucking down any more money for the upgrade to the Pro version.

I love S1 Pro. It's so easy to work with. The drag-and-drop feature was one of the main things that sold me on this ahead of all the other DAWs I demoed. It's also rock-solid stable - if a plugin crashes, I can always save where I'm up to and close down and reopen in an orderly manner, no CTDs or freezing. And the only plugin crashes I get, are loading large Play patches when I have lots of Kontakt or Kore instances already open, so I even know when a crash is likely to occur.
If you do a search, there's one or two threads here about S1.

Thanks Rob,
I've been messing around with the reverb and EQ and I really like how clean and smooth they sound. Although their instrument plugins are pretty boring (except for KORE), this is a pretty cool DAW considering it's only on version 1. I had never heard about them until recently. Looks like it has a very promising future.

Yeh, boring instruments but quite good quality effects. But I only use selected third party instruments so I had to go Pro.

Re: Anyone using Presonus Studio One
Just upgraded from Artist to Pro myself and it's working great. I considered buying Pro Tools as that's what my studio uses and it would be nice for me to be compatible, but in the end the ease of use of S1 won me over.
Initially I wasn't crazy about the built-in reverb for use with vocals, but found the plate reverb setting in Room Reverb works well, and so far my VSTs (VST support being the main reason for my upgrade from Artist) seem to work perfectly.

Re: Anyone using Presonus Studio One
Oh, wow...I LOVE Presonus Studio One too!!
I'm a long time Cubase user. I moved from my Roland MC-500 to Cubase in the late '80s or early '90s (can't quite remember when I started with it) when it came out on the Atari ST (Holy Cow I'm old now!). I have purchased every upgrade since. I mean, I have been heavily invested (both monetarily & emotional) in this software for a long time.
I've also been using Sonic Foundry (now Sony) Acid for many years.
I am due to upgrade to Cubase 6.0 but...
I took a look at Presonus....wow, it's great! It seems to do everything I need in one [relatively] small program. I'm amazed!
Now I see why people love it so much.

v2.0 has a new convo reverb that accepts external IRs. You may have seen that already.cameron wrote:Initially I wasn't crazy about the built-in reverb for use with vocals, but found the plate reverb setting in Room Reverb works well,

Some bugs in 2.0 that need fixing (such as unfreeze not returning automations to original states) but they should be addressed fairly quickly.
