Any recent update Casey? Did you nail it?Oct 19, 2008, 11:50am, wta wrote: ... but I've never had this problem till about 2 weeks ago. If both of you started having the same issue simultaneously, running Cubase on XP as I am...I think I'll contact a local studio here that is set-up very similar to you WTA, and I'll report back if they have seen the same thing (*reaches for phone*).
Earplugs may be required for anyone over the age of cool.

Re: Cubase LE mixdown problem
No updates... I ordered RAM which should be here in a few days and I'm going to add a 2nd hard drive... No news until the upgrades...I don't know if there is a relationship between the problem wta started having and mine... Could be, dunno.... I do know that it gets worse with each plug-in applied in a given mix (reverb, autotune, etc) so the assumption that it is a computer resource issue makes sense. Stay tuned... Casey

Hey Casey, If it's XP I do believe maxxing it out to 4gb's won't help because XP can only read up to 3... someone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...Have you made sure that your ASIO drivers are up to date?

Re: Cubase LE mixdown problem
i had similar problems when exporting and using realtime effects gave me critical error after error. i was running le4 that came with my lexicon and eventuallys switched to sx3 and haven't had any more problems. so who knows and to think i was really liking the colorful cubase 4 interface. oh well back to what works
impossible is what I've already done because I was told I couldn't, so please find another way to motivate me...

I know that (32 bit) XP won't give you all 4GB. I've read it can vary from about 3 to 3.5 GB depending on your system. Some video cards and accessories start grabbing memory from the top (4GB down towards 3GB). It turned out that buying two 2GB modules (to replace my current two 512 MB modules) wasn't much more expensive than adding 2 GB to my 1 GB system so that's how I ordered the memory. If I get more than 3GB cool, if not I'm still in much better shape. My 1GB was definitely way too light.I use the Tascam 144 drivers. That seems to have worked best for me so far. Thanks!!! Appreciate all the help and support from everyone! Casey

Re: Cubase LE mixdown problem
Update...I added 3GB RAM to my PC today for a total of 4GB. My system shows that I have 3.25GB available so upping it to 4GB instead of 3GB was worth it.... well at least worth it by 250MB (.25 GB)... Isn't that funny? A few years back we talked about having 2 or 4 MB as smokin!I won't be sure how my Cubase is working until I play around with a few projects. It looks like mixdowns are faster now but I'll see as time goes on... And I still need to add another drive. Thanks all! Casey

Re: Cubase LE mixdown problem
Funny thing with my situation is i've been running SE for about a year and it was only recently that the issue came up. That speaks conflict to me but my I've done nothing to fix or change anything except continued updates and and now all is well again... My love hate relationship with my pc continues... '-) wta
