Quote:Unfortunately I can't help with schematics... Did you ask around at the DUC? Another option: You could always consider just not using analog outputs 1-2! With my Digi 002, I use a separate monitor controller with a digital input. You could use the S/PDIF out to a monitor controller and be all set. You could buy something like the Presonus Central Station for what your repair bill would cost, and end up with a LOT more monitoring features, speaker switching, etc. In fact, as I think about it, that's exactly what I would do. You'll spend the same money, but end up with more gear and a more flexible studio!Cheers,JustinI knew if I hung out for just a bit longer someone would come up with something brilliant! Justin, you're a genius! Thanks for that.Incidentally, I have searched and posted about this on the DUC - no luck. That's one busy forum! Cheers,-AR

Cool! I'm glad that will work for you. I don't know what your studio setup is like, but I think you'll have a lot of fun with a fully-featured monitor controller. The only bummer is that you'll need to update all of your sessions' i/o setup to use the S/PDIF output. Kind of a pain, but not the end of the world. I REALLY wish Pro Tools LE had a mirroring setup so you could just route the main mix out whatever holes you want. But, alas, it doesn't.Anyway, have fun and let us know how it works out.Justin

But, alas, it doesn't.FWIW, I just read in the Digi 002 "Getting Started" manual (page 63) that you can mirror the main outs to S/PDIF or other outputs. What it says is, "Click the Output selector of any audio or Auxiliary Input track to select the main output destination, for example, Analog 1–2. Hold the Control key and click the same Output selector again, then select a second output for the same track (for example S/PDIF L-R)." I haven't tried it yet but it sounds like this means that you can send the main outs to whatever output you want. You'll still have to do it on every track though instead of in the I/O setup - maybe that's what you were getting at..In any case, I'd been pondering getting a monitor controller for a while now, and this is the excuse I need!-AR

Yeah, the multiple output assign thing works, but is kind of a pain in the buttocks! I actually use that trick a lot for paralell compressing drums and guitars, etc. As well as routing tricks for effects and things. Oh well--it's not a problem to just use the digital output only...

I use that multiple out thing too... analog 1-2 to the monitor controller, and spdif 1-2 to a Firebox connected to my laptop running Spectrafoo. Handy dandy.

http://taxi.proboards27.com/index.cgi?b ... 5&page=7In the huge thread where I was setting up my computer, I had a cracking popping sound. I don't know if it's the same as what you're getting (I have PT LE 7.1, Digi002, WinXP). I got rid of it by freeing up system resources. I had too many tracks and plug-ins at the same time. I learned to use Aux tracks for plug-ins, made submixes and make tracks inactive. When I went on a "resource diet", the crackling disappeared and hasn't returned. I don't really know this solution will work for you since it sounds like you had it running smoothly for quite a while.Nomi
