OK, I guess I rattled some cages. It was not my intention but I wasn't trying not to either. Sorry to whoever I may have offended (except the songwriter).First of all, my comments concern the lyrics, since I have not even heard the song. I read the lyrics and they are strictly bubblegum, and if someone objects to that--too bad. As far as I am concerned these lyrics have nothing to offer anyone except a sixth grade girl bouncing her foot in class. They stink. Can I say it any clearer? If any adult thinks these are hot lyrics I know where there is a sale on bubblegum. If they call themselves an adult and listen to drivel like this then they are misinformed about their own category. I feel damned sorry for elevator riders of the future.There is nothing in this song to analyze. It is like trying to do an autopsy on a ribbon worm.In the meantime I will go right on making my attempts to write something just as crappy as these lyrics. I don't see for an instant why a song like this ought to be analyzed. Like any obedient Taxi member I spend a fair amount of time now listening to curent radio, mostly country or I probably would have heard this by now. I hear junk like this all the time and I don't have to analyze it to know what it is all about.Like I already said: it took no talent to write these lyrics, not a speck. All the gentlemen on here know that when they were about eight years old they could pee three or four yards. Because they can't do it now does not mean they have less talent than they used to have, or that they ever had any talent at all. Some things are age dependent. The dippy mind set of a sixth grader is something everyone has naturally when they are a sixth grader.I wish everyone luck trying to learn to pee across a parking lot again.

He got the Grammy for it after he passed away. I love the way he tells the story, a simple story but with so much feeling. Most people think of him as a singer with incredible tone. But few realize he wrote many of his hits. I also agree with you on the songs from Avril's first CD written by the Matrix writing team. The songs were unusually well-written for pop and after Avril never sounded good without the Matrix IMO.Nomi

Thanks Vikki and Nomi for liking great songs!I can't think of any other way of putting it.When I heard it for the first time it brought tears to my eyes and at that moment I had little idea who it was who had written or performed it.LV's wasn't that big over here.(UK) but I was pretty sure I recognised the voice but to hear he wrote it himself makes it even more poignient.Mick.

I don't usually listen to music for pleasure. I listen to learn about production, song writing, vocal performance, etc. But for some reason, for over a year I had to listen to "Little Miracles" every morning. It sounds like a simple song but the chords are pretty complex and there are some good lines like:"So there you goStrangely enoughAlone even thoughAddicted to love"

It sounds like a simple song but the chords are pretty complex and there are some good lines like:"So there you goStrangely enoughAlone even thoughAddicted to love"I am going to try and get hold of Little Miracles and have a listen but meanwhile,you raise a very interesting point about why musicians listen to music and probably just as importantly,how.I can't remeber at what point I stopped listening for pleasure and started analising.I would say it was brought about by having to figure out Band Part's long before the internet and anything that was written was usually a piano part only.There is no doubt though that it has spoilt my overall enjoyment in listening to music and the only thing I can listen to without trying to pull it apart is Classical.
