Looks good Graham.
If I had my computer pimped with more HD space I'd probably jump on it.
This explainer was on the site.

Actually I don't have Kontakt and the library would be reasonably large?

Re: Evolution Atlantica/Dragon Bundle
Graham, I've had both of these since they came out. These are really nice especially for trailers, but I've used a lot of the pads and arps for electronic and hybrid tension stuff.
At this price this is a no-brainer. I wish I could have gotten them at this price back then, but totally worth what I originally paid for them.

Re: Evolution Atlantica/Dragon Bundle
Hey Graham, I've read not so good reviews about it in a specific facebook group.Telefunkin wrote:Hi folks,
Audio Plugin Deals are offering Keepforest's Evolution Atlantica and Evolution Dragon as a bundle for just $89 until Nov 1st.
https://audioplugin.deals/
I'm sorely tempted, but before I go for it, I just wondered whether anyone has used either of the Evolution products and got good things to say? They look/sound good in the videos but are pretty large.
Has anyone used Audio Plugin Deals? Their web pages don't say much about the company.
Also, if anyone goes for the deal please let me know what you think.
The general consensus is that the sounds are not very inspiring and could be easily recreated or even better work the samples that you already have recorded.
Now mind you, if you don't have any of those sounds, and if you're willing to use them for trailers, it is a no brainer,
HTH,

Sorry, didn't see Steve's reply beforehand, and it's not a warning in any shape or form. It was posted in a fb group earlier and read it this morning, and thought of sharing it with you.
Listen to the demos.
The price is really enticing
And if you happen to buy it, would love to hear your feedback as well

Re: Evolution Atlantica/Dragon Bundle
One of the things that always strikes me when going through sounds in a new library is that it's difficult to put the sound into context just by itself. It reminds me of looking at paint swatches in the hardware store with my wife and trying to visualize how the room will look after it's painted. She can, but I can't.
The sounds (as are many in trailer-type libraries) are not meant to stand alone. They are usually the icing on the cake. Put them into context with your track and it becomes something very cool.
Just my two cents.

Now I see why this sale happened. Keep Forest just announced their latest library, Vikings (http://keep-forest.com/vikings-all.html).
Cinematic, Punk, Folk, Trailer.
Um...ok.

Re: Evolution Atlantica/Dragon Bundle
These products are great if you have don't have anything like it, or don't have the tools and experience to make your own, then this price is a no-brainer.
I remember when the second of these was just released, we were close to finishing up our first sound design album. Listening through, I thought these sets sounded great but realised there was literally nothing on it that I couldn't more-or-less do myself from scratch. That's where you have to decide if you want to save time and reach for these, or DIY and take a bit longer. I decided to stop buying these and have been building up my own sound design collection instead.
My suggestion would be, collect a couple of these, but then spend time and some money assembling a toolkit to make your own sounds. Most of it will already be in your DAW - compressor, eq, filter, reverb, phaser, flanger, etc. And you'll also want some more interesting creative tools such as grain delay, spectral morpher, high quality pitch shifter, something like Stutter Edit or Tantra for helping with pulses, etc. And of course, some nice synths and source sounds.

aghhh Rob.. Too bad you're not coming to LA this year. Would have loved to discuss these things live. i have a loooong long road ahead of me regarding these stuff. I enjoy doing my orchestral cues, but find it a real pain in the b##t when it comes to sound design..
But again that was exactly my thoughts (pr at least what I understood from the comments)

Re: Evolution Atlantica/Dragon Bundle
Edmond, I'm entirely self taught when it comes to sound design. I don't think I've ever even watched any tutorial vids about it. It's basically been a case of making or taking a sound and then processing it with different tools to see what happens. After a while you understand what does what and how to achieve desired results, and that's when the 'sound design' starts ie. when you have a sound in your head and you understand what you need to do to get there. A lot of it initially is good fortune, you try something just to see what happens and go from there. There is no right or wrong, just practice. For our current sound design album, one cue I'm doing was built about 80% from a single drum hit. Take it, process it one way. Then process that result in a bunch of different ways. Fun!
Here's a rough quick example extracted from that project. This exercise was with one sound, the original drum hit, then processed as described in comments: https://soundcloud.com/cyphertm/sd-example/s-sPJEv
For some reason, the comments aren't showing there so I'll outline them here:
0:00 drum hit from sample library
0:05 shape with eq
0:09 shape attack and decay to achieve 'whoom' sound, then multiply to create deep pulse
0:10 process that pulse with Tantra to create a further variety of pulses
0:50 pitch shift up one of the pulses
0:55 stutter edit
0:57 massive hit achieved using a combination of compression, reverb and distortion
All of that from the original drum hit. No other sounds were used.
