What do you guys think is going to happen if you have a music computer online? I'd find it a terrible PITA not being able to go online to authorize software or download updates. Now, I don't surf the web with my Windows slaves, but I think this online fear is very 90s. As a matter of fact you're more likely to confuse the damn machine, because networking is part of the OS - Windows or Mac.

Hi everyone,Just to let you know, I had news from NI explaining that the player that comes with the Gold bundle does NOT work with Intel Mac, so he suggested using an older version or a PC.Obviously according to him I got lots of computers lying about.Hi NickBatzdorf,I personally have no problems going on line with my audio computer for updates or to authorize only, it just happens that I have no line available at home, but it is also true that the internet software inside the computer interferes with the recordings.

What can I say Nick...I am a 90s kind of guy. You think the networking software gets all kinda jittery because I don't give it anything to do? Maybe it starts poking around in the audio files when it gets bored? I'll have to consider that. Don't want any bored ones and zeros skulking about.

Let me get this straight....If I'm running Logic 7 on an imac with an intel duo core processor, I can't run EWQLSO?

To give a little background, when EW came out with the Quantum Leap Orchestra, the licensed the "Kompakt Player" from Native Instruments, programmed the orchestra for that platform, and supplied that Kompakt Player to the user. The Player was upwards compatible with NI's flagship Kontakt, meaning you could also load those samples into Kontakt if you had purchased that separately. When Apple switched to Intel processoprs, NI decided not to upgrade their Kompakt products for that platform, only the Kontakt products...(part of the reason was most likely that everybody hated their confusing naming ).Since at that time EW was developing their own player in house (called the "Play Engine"), they decided not to license the newer Intel Mac compatible Kontakt Player from NI. As a result, the old Kompakt Player that is still bundeled with EWQL will not run on Intel Macs, and you have the option of either buying Kontakt separately and running the samples on that (you can crossgrade from the Kompakt Player at a reduced price), or upgrading to the Play version when the Orchestra is released for it...which should be "soon". Thanks MattThat cleared things up for me. I think I'll wait for the intel compatible Play version to come out before I invest in the EWQLSO gold bundle.mewman
