Falling From The Tree
Listing help here guys, if you would.I'm pretty much leaning towards Funk, but the listings for that are so rare, at least from what I've seen so far (only been a paying member since September).Do you see any alternatives to this other than Funk, maybe something else it could fall into for the listings? Any help would be much appreciated.http://www.audio-village.com/_Falling-F ... 29713.html

Stephen, I love the bass in this . . . very cool & "vibey". This is a pretty specific sound and I think rather that going for a broad genre like "funk" or something maybe someone here (that listens to more new music that I do!) could help you out with a specific ala artists. This is a familiar sound . . . c'mon folks, who does this sound like?

This was more of an experiment for me.

Cool song, stephen...I listened twice. I think it's one that could fit several genre, depending on how it is produced and sung. It doesn't sound exactly like Funk to me right now, at least not classic Funk. I could hear Chrissie Hynde doing it. Could be R&B, but you'd have to use different instrumentation (e.g., programmed drums). Beyonce? On my laptop speakers, the drums were a little hot in the mix.Vince

I will have to check her out to compare.. Yeah, I can hear the R & B thing... ...its possible.

Re: Falling From The Tree
The bass and drums have a funk vibe. The rhythm guitar needs to be brighter with alot of wah pedal on the 1 beat to be funk.Vocally it is almost an ethereal jazz sound. The arrangement is really R&B.What i hear is a Funk,R&B,Pop,Jazz sound.I could hear madonna singing this. Its very modern but has a twinge of 70's feel to it.M~

Re: Falling From The Tree
To me it's modern day R&B/Pop culture. You'd hear it today on the tubes.Just like what they do at the Grammys and Emmys, Music awards. It's really current in my opinion. In fact Victoria Secret had a show on last night or the night before and it is much like the music sang as the gals strutted "sweet as molasses" across the stage. I gotta say though i was doing more looking than listening. My bad. Your good.Doc
