Yes, that crossed my mind! I'm seriously considering getting a steel guitar and learning to play, I love that sound so much!funsongs wrote: ↑Thu Jul 28, 2022 9:49 amIf you are willing and able to 'hire the professional', about $100 will get you there, for either of those.DouglasKnight wrote: ↑Thu Jul 28, 2022 3:28 amAwesome, thanks a lot Peter. I wish I played fiddle or steel guitar, would love to add more Americana flair. Appreciate the listen and positive feedback sir!

I can hardly imagine a more difficult instrument to master...
feet, fingers, hands, knees...
it requires being as much of a coordinated athlete as it is knowing your music in open tunings.
Good luck with ALL OF THAT!!

Oh, not pedal steel, I meant dobro guitar. Yes, pedal steel would be a major undertaking!

Well - Dobro is up there as one of my favorite-sounding instruments (Rob Ickes, Jerry Douglas, Mike Auldridge, etc.);DouglasKnight wrote: ↑Thu Jul 28, 2022 6:01 pmOh, not pedal steel, I meant dobro guitar. Yes, pedal steel would be a major undertaking!
but not one that I've learned to play.
If you manage to get good at that or lapsteel guitar - you can certainly add some wonderful ear-candy dynamics to your productions.
Cheers.
