OK, I hate to break up the banter, but I would like respond to the initial request of Vikki's thread way back on page 1 I kind of just jumped in the forum immediately after I joined in July of this year -- Thank you to all of you who have been so kind and patient with this newbie! -- I never read the "rule book" before I started posting my threads, so please forgive me in advance for any lack of etiquette I may have displayed over the past few months. My name is Larry Weber. I live in Palestine, Texas, U.S.A. YEEEEEE-HAAAWWWWWWW!!!!Originally from North Dakota, close to the Canadian border. Started playing piano in 4th grade, self taught - then self taught in guitar, bass and drums. Got an accounting degree in '93 as a backup plan, moved to South Carolina in '95, got picked up to play keyboards by Curb Recording Artist "Perfect Stranger" ("You Have The Right To Remain Silent") 4 months after moving to SC, moved to Texas in '96. Quit Perfect Stranger in '98. Now am a partner in a CPA firm, married to a dentist, have 2 kids, play in a local band, and built a 1,200 sq foot recording studio last year. Music is part-time for me obviously, but most dear to my heart. My goals are to hear my music played...well, somewhere! I currently am playing all of the instruments and doing all of the vocal work on my stuff, but am looking to branch out into more MIDI work when I get more comfortable with it. Initially I joined Taxi to submit material to the high-bar Nashville listings, but have backed off (after consistent returns and critiques) until I finish reading some more books to improve my lyrical ability. In the mean time, I have enjoyed writing for specific film / TV placement listings. I have 6 forwards since joining. My background is mostly country, oldies and classic rock. Still a fan of country, but losing interest in the "pop" country. More of traditionalist I guess you would say. Also, I have written some children's music that I think is pretty good, and would like to finish a children's album some day.Anyhoo, Nice to meet y'all ! Larry
