And one of the best ways to find out is to ask your target market. You could create a survey, include a link to a portion of a song that is representative and ask them a series of questions.

So, if you're looking to reach 20 somethings - go where they hang out and ask them to do the survey - offer them a chance to win a $25 starbucks card or something. By the way - this is also a guerrilla marketing tactic.
