Late on this, but Morgan Neville is responsible for two of my favorite music documentaries, one of which is free to screen on PBS.org:

Troubadours: Carole King/James Taylor and the Rise of the Singer/Songwriter

Dave Grohl's "Sound City", the forthcoming "The Wrecking Crew", "Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars", Keith Richards' tribute to the great Chuck Berry, "Hail, Hail Rock'N'Roll", Talking Heads' "Remain In Light" and any episode of HBO's "Treme".
