Chits, this is well deserved. No one else could've written Atmore and no one else could've sung/produced it like Bill did. It's a truly unique song and recognition like this tells you that others think so too.I know there're lots of folks who say that contests don't mean squat. Here's what I have to say to that: Depends on the contest. This kind of news can add weight to a nice-looking website, mixed of course with good reviews by e-zines, other reputable mags. It can direct more traffic to you and consequently, may aid future income if done well.VERY well done, all y'all! So proud of you.

Thanks, Nita for the kind words....everyone has an opinion.....but I like your reasoning about contests being a nice feather in your cap as far as references go on a website. You never know where that could lead. It sure won't hurt you. I can use some of DAT. If nothing else, you have something cool to put on your songwriting resume. And I'll blow my horn just a bit. Billboard, like The John Lennon song contest, is pretty major, (well, as far as contests go) so it's nothing to sniff at, hehe. Okay, I'll get off my self indulgent cloud now, but I'm very happy....I've never had anything like this happen, and my creek bed has been so dry as I said. I am ALWAYS the bridesmaid but never the bride. So I need just a little bit of excitement for now. (excitement for Bill G. too)

That's awesome news Janet! Atmore is one of my favorite co-writes, it's was fun to produce and I haven't grown tired of listening to it either. Gotta add that Steve's keyboard work is great on it too. Guess now we have to do another!

Bill, dang, Steve's gonna get me...I just went back in my first post and gave Steve credit for the keyboard work...he did an outstanding job. Yeah, we'll all have to write another one....seriously, this was a nice little award for that song.Anyway, I'm gonna sign off a bit folks...just wanted to answer your posts. And thanks Bill to you again....you made this all possible!

Jumping in late - CONGRATULATIONS CHITS!!! That's a big contest so how cool is that? Yeah, your name is on the certificate because you entered the song (if I'm duplicating an answer, sorry). Any time one of us gets an attagirl, we all celebrate success. Congrats again Claire

Oh, man, honey. There is NO WAY on earth I could be happier for you. I would guess TENS of thousands of songs are submitted for this particular contest, so that sort of mention seriously DOES mean you're doing something right. So proud of you. congrats.Ted
