The last date that Taxi members will be able to submit to Taxi through Broadjam should currently be available on every members' logged in artist page. Casey is very close in his explanation. A summary of how this date was determined or more information if you don't have a date is available - just email Broadjam customer service.

About this thing with Broadjam...Back when I joined TAXI in Feb. I didn't both bother signing up with BJ...and I'm glad I did not at this point. However, I do not know all the pros/cons of BJ vs TAXI's new online service.imo TAXI/Michael L. seem to be always "progressive" in this business.... so it made perfect sense that at some point TAXI would expand it's services to be a more complete package to it's members.Of course, any transition takes time....

Taxi says they do ( and I have no reason to doubt them), but it's pretty much a situation where you have to take their word for it. I'm sure though that just as Taxi won't risk their reputatin on giving false or unfair service to their members, BJ won't take that kind of chance either. I also agree that too open a door for so many submisions will create havoc. I don't know how BJ is going to get past that problem.As for the question about why taxi hadn't done a full service site like broadjam before, the answer is simple. Storage and Bandwidth. I'm sure when Taxi first decided to provide online submision and compared what they would have to pay in bandwidth alone, it probably made sense at the time to join up with an existing service like BJ. I guess we'll all just have to stay tuned to see what comes out of all this.

OK, if you take a minute to step back from all of this... What's really relevant to YOU as a TAXI member?1. You will be getting a new electronic submission/hosting service for free and saving $50 a year. That might make the difference as to whether or not you can afford to join and possibly use Dispatch.2. If you paid Bjam for the taxi electronic submission service and they don't either give you what you paid for or refund you for what you didn't get, that's an issue and you should scream bloody murder. That would be a big problem for you as a paying taxi member. I haven't heard that anyone is getting ripped off this way yet.3. How Bjam performs their new service is really something to talk about with them. Asking them here what they do with your submissions has nothing to do with your TAXI membership and it's been said before that TAXI prefers not to use these boards to give airplay to competition. 4. Your TAXI submissions couldn't possibly be watered down by another music website taking on-line submissions. There are already scores of those and they don't have the business model that TAXI does which involved strong screening. Not saying those other things are good or bad (I like some of them)... just different.I'm guilty too of a lot of gossip-y conjecture and I'm starting to feel like it's "Who is Anna Nicole's daughter's father?". I hope they have refund policies lined up or I'll be well F*d off.

I would imagine that since electronic submission was part of what was offered, if they take it away they will offer a refund. After all, they might have some disagreement with Taxi, but they won't want angry customers.

what they shut down the service... that's so uncool!! I have a friend who joined in Feb. just a month befor I did.. and nobody mentioned to him the changes coming up. and he bought into the whole package. And only because that's what was needed to forward to taxi... He is gonna be Pissed off!!!

My submission history is still in tact and Broadjam stated in writing on my Broadjam profile page that I'll be able to make subissions until I'm up for renewal in December of 2007.So there's no need to panic IMHO, however, that doesn't mean I'm completely pleased: I only joined Broadjam so that I could submit to Taxi. I have no need for nor any interest in any of their other services.In Broadjam's defence, I must admit that I was willing to pay for Broadjam's services under the circumstances that existed at the time and now the only thing that has changed is that there is now another way to accomplish the same thing; Broadjam has not taken away anything that they promised to me when I joined. The only fault that I can lay firmly on Broadjam's shoulders is that they must have had a plan to steer me as a Taxi member to their new services when I signed up and I don't think that was ethical. For that reason alone I feel that it's only right that ALL TAXI MEMBERS SHOULD BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO OPT OUT OF BROADJAM AND RECEIVE A PRO-RATED REFUND.-Allen
