Perhaps - however he's expressed them thru a more specific setting (i.e. a story - no books here!) instead of using generic (i.e. cliche) statements to set it up - and in so doing, has allowed you to feel the loss and thus the sense of hope he feels at reaching Graceland.Scott

Perhaps - sounds a bit wishy washy to meAnyway - I only write whats in me and how I see the worldat the moments in time I write the song. Otherwise it wouldn't be me. So either you get me or you don't.I don't really care too much as long as it please's me then I amhappy. If it please's anybody else then I'd be chuffed.Mind you - you can always follow what everybody else is trying todo on here and fail !!Explorers don't always follow the safest route do they !!!CyasNickwww.unit58.com

You seem to care and not care - I just thought, seeing as you1. Post on a lyric REVIEW forum...and2. Have a 'Songs For Sale' sign, you'd be interested in what people are actually after - that's all I'm talking about.Aug 24, 2009, 5:16am, unit58studios wrote: Mind you - you can always follow what everybody else is trying to do on here and fail !!Wow - so trying to learn from Paul Simon etc. along with the current crop of HIT song writers - and then finding you're own voice in amongst all that is failure??? That's a pretty skewed view of things! We all want to believe that our first inspiration is total genius and that the world will fall at our feet without any real effort. When we do the reality check out there in the real world (i.e. outside of fantasy) we realise there is no such thing...for anyone (except perhaps in publicist media hype)Aug 24, 2009, 5:16am, unit58studios wrote: Explorers don't always follow the safest route do they !!!You look at the musical 'explorers' of any generation - and then look at the people they listened to - you will see ALL great 'explorers' are standing on the shoulders of those who went before. They just added their own uniqueness to the mix and came up with something that was different - but within certain parameters (genre etc.). There's bound to be one or two exceptions to the rule - but they remain exceptions (i.e. anomalies) and do not disprove the rule.Cheers,Scott
