Hi, Walter. I'm new to Taxi. I just read your posts. I will pray for you, friend. I saw the little "tag" at the end of your post, so I uploaded a song I wrote: "And God Shall Wipe Away All the Tears from My Eyes." You also might want to listen to "You Can Go On." I put them on my taxi homepage at: www.taxi.com/suestrawThinking of you,SueZQ

Quote:Okay, we now have a name for the critter in my head. It is a Xanthogranuloma (Zantho...). Basically, that's a fatty, yellow scar tissue that continues to grow (Yeah!, now you can truly call me a fat head). The Neurosurgeon has no idea how to treat such a thing since, the great majority of the time, it is a "skin" condition. How did it get in my head? I haven't the foggiest. So, I have a date, June 8, with a Hemotologist to determine a path of treatment. I now await that day with baited breath, 'cause I'm tired of all the symptoms ( One of which is low testosterone. Mmmm-mmm!). I'll let ya know as the drama unfolds. Without sounding too morbid. I think you should write a song about it. Especially about the symptoms, as you are experiencing them first hand. Your comments about it had humour in them and I think it would be quite cool to have a song that looked at the irony of the symptoms. Make sure you throw something in about the testosterone. Well, it made me smile. BTWI had a look on the internet for the condition and found that it is far more common in children and far less likely in adults.I found this really informative page on it.http://www.emedicine.com/oph/topic588.htmYou'll notice it's Juvenile. Probably because it's more common in children. Another link about it:http://bjo.bmj.com/cgi/content/abstract ... 680There's loads of info on the net about the condition and various approaches to treatment.
It's been said that I have Murderous eyes.

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone can promise you that any particular song wil make enough money for your wife to be comfortable. Let's see what happens, quickly. You have my email. steve

Just a winning (!!!) update. The Hematologist has no idea how to treat this thing. Sounding familiar?! We're spending alot of money to hear the same three words, "I don't know", from highly educated folks. The next guy, prob'ly w/ the same three words, is a Radio-oncologist on Tues. or Wed.. Then I'm in the CAT scan for a full body view to make sure this is just in m'brain. $$$$$$$$$ We will proceed from there. Yeah!, to a more specialized special specialist whose PhD is in one brain cell in particular!!! You know, that one 1/100,000,000 of a mm left of center from the pituitary. He gets $100,000 just for waking up and getting out of bed. He gets another $250,000 for walking through the front door of his office! $500,000 for eye contact w/ an actual patient, etc. Wait. I need to wipe the sarcasm off my mouth. Let me find a towel! I am doing a bit of research on my own, yes. Let it never be said that I'm a non-participating lab rat. Whew!! That felt good!!!

Hi Walter, Continue to hope and speak that hope into faith. And tho I may be a stranger, I'm no stranger to prayer, and to Whom I pray: Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, I join my prayers in agreement with Walter and all those who pray for his recovery. best,bc

Ah, at long last, a step forward. The Radiation-Oncologist said Radiation Therapy is probably my best option. He feels I would best be treated in a Univ. setting (which means I get to pay them to learn, lol). So, he is contacting some colleagues at Emory U. T'was nice to hear someone with information!

A diagnosis at last. Try Erdheim-Chester Disease, then Interferon on the net. Doc says, after a full-body bone and CT scan, I have the classic symptoms.
