its up to you but I would take a chance. its one track. you can always place more in the future if it feels right. or not, if that feels right.
I dunno bout you, but I bet if you wrote one trailer instrumental, you can likely write another for another opportunity and not really morn the exclusive signing of this one.

Now I'm leaning toward going for it. Though I'm not completely sure the library owner is still interested in me; I got the feeling he was a bit irritated with my questions. Well, we'll see... I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for all your thoughts.

I have a few deals where I get requested to write specific cues. If I have the ability and time to do them, I do it. Those cues are specific for those requests. If those songs turn out to never make me a dime, I am fine. I can still write more songs for different libraries.
The worst that can happen = you make zero dollars for that song.
