Don't be afraid. There are a million questions to ask regarding anything in life. The important thing is to gain experience. Even a bad experience answers some questions. Take a chance!

Blanket statements and arguments aside, action > inaction.

its up to you but I would take a chance. its one track. you can always place more in the future if it feels right. or not, if that feels right.

I dunno bout you, but I bet if you wrote one trailer instrumental, you can likely write another for another opportunity and not really morn the exclusive signing of this one.

and like Desire wrote Action > inaction. you've got an opening now.

Good luck.

Actually, the contract is for ongoing work, not just a single track. But I see your point, nonetheless.

Now I'm leaning toward going for it. Though I'm not completely sure the library owner is still interested in me; I got the feeling he was a bit irritated with my questions. Well, we'll see... I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for all your thoughts. :)

Go for it bro.

I have a few deals where I get requested to write specific cues. If I have the ability and time to do them, I do it. Those cues are specific for those requests. If those songs turn out to never make me a dime, I am fine. I can still write more songs for different libraries.

The worst that can happen = you make zero dollars for that song.
