Still gotta say that the Rally hype seems a bit overblown, but I'll try to keep an open mind. Certainly there are some good courses offered, and that Michael does all this out-of-pocket is pretty amazing. Somehow though standing in line with hundreds of other sheep-- for a chance that someone important might actually WANT to listen to one of my CDs-- seems a bit pointless as a career move. I'm really just going to meet some nice folks and learn something from the seminars. Already got to meet wild man Warren Heins, so that's awesome. Trolled the bar a time or two but didn't see anybody else I recognized from their avatar.Cam

Meeting folks and taking some classes... If you are lucky and make a valuable industry contact, that's gravy... Look for folks with dots on the badges, avatars are tough... Got some photos on my cell camera but can't post them right now...It's really great being with the gang here. It's amazing how when you finally meet your forum pals in person, it's like you always knew them- no different (often stronger) than with non-cyber friends.Last night a few of us performed at the Alternative Road Rally Open Mic (RRAOM)... It's a smaller venue, hosted by Elizabeth and Neil- you'll see them on here from time to tim. The RRAOM is more casual, some are real performers, others just songwriters (like me ) so you don't have to be fully polished to play. Last night, being the first night there was a very light turnout, which made me brave enough to actually sing in front of people ... Nomi, Adrienne, and Vikki did numbers and were awesome. Nomi also got picked to play the big open mic where (mainly) the more serious folks perform. In addition to folks I met last year, I've met Warren (Heinsite), CK Barlow, Adrienne, Raags, Jimi, Jazzstan, Barry (got to check his taxi board name, sorry my friend), amd more... If I left out a name, forgive me... jet lag and not much sleep... Cameron is wandering around somewhere... We've talked on the phone but haven't met in person yet. I know he's met some of the gang.At 3:00, I have my mentor meeting... I picked someone whose background is both rock and film/TV. Tomorrow I'll do some classes...Oh, and we've all kept our clothes on, at least in public.... Casey
