Mentor Luncheon

Post by hazineju » Mon Oct 13, 2008 10:59 am

just got the email about the luncheon. i haven't done the luncheon before, but reading some of the forum members past posts (esp. hummingbird) has convinced me to at least go to one. so a couple questions1. is it the same mentors on both days? if i were to sign up for both days, would there be a chance the same rotation of people come to my table? is it assigned seating? 2. is it a wedding kind of deal where you can choose "chicken or fish," for the entree, or is it just one choice of food--- i have a very strict diet right now due to health issues. granted, the food is not the reason i would attend or not...just wondering (this way i can plan ahead and bring snacks for later if i can't eat much of the food at the luncheon)getting excited!****revision, i just found the answer to #2 by clicking on ordering a ticket, but thought i would leave the info up in case anyone else has dietary concerns:you can pick chicken or vegetarian--- works for me

It's "musical mentors"... one mentor for each table (and there's lots of tables). They change tables every 10 minutes or so... you'll get a wide variety during the entire luncheon(s).I think the first year, the mentors stayed put and everybody else changed tables... that was a mess (that's a *joke*). Nobody gets married though.

That is a very good question hazineju. Are there going to be the same mentor's on the same day. I just purchase both days so if there is gong to be the same mentor's on both days I would only go to one of the two days. Can some please verify this information cant wait to dine with some of the members here.

I went to both luncheons last year, and both luncheons the year before. I did not have the same mentors come to the table on both days, in both years. I can't guarantee that you won't get a second visit, but I just haven't in 4 luncheons.

I think a few mentors are there both days, but many only one. I think it would be highly unlikely you would get the same mentor more than once, it's never happened to me and I've been to lots of these.

FWIW, I went to both luncheons last year, and I DID see one mentor at my table both days. But REGARDLESS...that's eight out of nine possible mentors during the two meals that I NEVER could've had up-close-and-personal time with any other way. And 7 out of the 9 took one of my CD's with them. That was worth the price of the meal all by itself. And it's a really nice meal, to boot. They sure were last year...I wouldn't worry about that, as it's a very rare thing.
