Quote:I once made the mistakeof thinking money was more importantthan melodythan creativitythan living with passionit was the darkest time of my life.Even if noone ever knows my name,I will write and sing, dance and paint, because that's what makes me feel alive."I am a firm believer in the impossible."~ Vikki Flawith Right on, Ms. Bird! I completely believe that the realization or your art is the way to go.Whenever I've tried to be "commercial", I failed. Whenever I've been "unique", I've succeded.ALL of my artistic $$$$ has come from "abstract music".So there ya go!!!!!Ern

"...Everyone has their own sound, and if you're heard enough, folks will come to recognize it. Style however, is a different thing. Try to express your own ideas. The quote;"Nothing is capable of being well set to music that is not nonsense"~ Joseph Addison (1672-1719), English essayist, poet, statesmanIs difficult to understand if analyzed grammatically because of all the negatives and its somewhat surprising that a man of letters would produce such a confusing babble.Let's look at it more closely by changing the words.Everything is capable of being set to music that is nonsense. In that case, he was precisely talking about Trout Mask Replica. You call yourselves lyricists but I'm the only one who noticed it.

A clear cut case of "Musician heal thyself!!" methinks! Btw, when are you gonna post some links to more of those cool theory articles you have a knack of finding? Here's a link you might find interesting:http://www.furious.com/perfect/iloubot.htmlIt's not an article as such. Just a little creative writing. It helps if you're even slightly familiar with Lou Reed's 'Metal Machine Music' album.
