My Arm Candy
More trash and treasures. This is an odd one lyrically. I musta been missing her. Who? Dunno, just her.I know, i know, there is no bridge, no highway, no streets, yadda yadda yadda. I'm learning about it, i'm learning about it.Just listen to it and gimme some feedback on the lyrics and meoldy. Just uploaded it but it should play soon.Any input is always appreciated but i got a feeling that it'll just be more of the same!lolhttp://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_id=190529&stream=trueBe cool.Doc

Hi Doc, nice melody and I thought the lyric flowed pretty well with a nice dash of humour. I know you don't want to hear about the 'bridge' again, however, it would be a shame not to use the catchy melody you have for an instrumental break / bridge (delete the word you like least). Hope this is of some help.Graham

Re: My Arm Candy
Graham, I'm just old and ornery, I still have no FKN idea what everyone is talking about with this bridge thing. i'm gonna put on some disguise and go rob a FKN 7-11 to vent my anger or pissed offedness!lol Wish someone would tell me and show me what the FK this thing is!I'll gladly forward it to you, chords and all and let you do a REAL demo if you think it's worth doing. We can go 50/50 on what, if anything, I may ever earn from a quality demo through Taxi? It can be reduced to writing and protect each of us for anything taxi may ever do for us.No other way for me to get it to the next level in my opinion without sharing the work and profits. I'd still want to be listed as the songwriter but whomever does the demo can be listed as melody writer and arranger if that's suitable. If not something can be agreed to in advance.Or maybe you know of someone else that would be interested? I'd work with "whomever" and pay the nominal fees to submit. It'd just have to be as good as what i hear on this site and i really hear some GREAT work that I'm really confused about not getting picked up.I really do enjoy writing and think i get a few good hooks from time to time but i also realize i'm no player or singer so it sort of stops on my porch.Gotta go, honey is getting undressed. Thanks again and the door is open. Not for honey, but for a co-song writer arranger.Doc

Re: My Arm Candy
Hi Doc,Unfortunately, I'm useless when it comes to demo's. I have to rely on others to guide me through the process. With regard to the bridge, here goes with my brief explanation -Pick any popular song and identify the verse. Then identify the chorus. Then wait for the second verse and chorus to finish. Then, if the next musical / vocal passage differs noticeably from what you've heard up until that point - that's the bridge. If it doesn't, then the song either doesn't have one or it's positioned somewhere else in the song. That's a simplistic overview and obviously songs these days aren't all structured this way (but a worrying amount are), however, hopefully it helps you identify them when you here them. Hope this helps. Good luckGraham

Re: My Arm Candy
Me thinks she be fixed now. My bad. Now remember i don't sing or play worth a FK so no laughing or i'll hire someone you love to kick your dog! Writing it was just for fun anyway one day at starbucks.I keep hearing about this FKN bridge and how important it is and yadda yadda yadda. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh! Do you all use it ALL OF THE TIME or is this one of those once a month things?I'm not in ya'lls league with regard to this venue but a simple word like a bridge ought to be easy enough for an old timer to understand. So as i see it the bridge, this vastly talked about item, is only seen once or twice in the whole song and it's that important? Did the beatles, stones, zztop, etc all use them or is this some new deal or old deal used more now a days?I can remember musical transitions that built up and or came down that tied you back into the upcoming verse or chorus but i just can't get my mind around it. Ya get old, ya get stupid.I'm gonna take you advice lyndyn and look up an old tune and go over the lyrics and i can see through this smoke then maybe i will be able to catch a glimpse. How important is it? or was this a REALLY STUPID thing to ask on this venue!Doc

Re: My Arm Candy
well doc ... it's 2AM in ingerland and I have to get the boy to footie by 9:30 and I will gladly help you understand a bridge (in GB, they've notoriously called it middle 8 for a long time) with some examples if somebody doesn't do it first but that'll all have to wait till tomorrow after I've done my normal saturday deeds and seen to 'er indoors and finished choppin' the wood cus the north wind is gonna blow and stocked up on my pints.well that and I have to do some reviews on this other site I'm on where they welcome my brutality. musical masochists there. I like that ...
