My Mayer lyric listing return - your opinion , Im open :)

This listing and response has got me scratchin my head

My song is " When there is love"
-the return comment "Lyrics make it sound like there isn't love now. This removes a lot of sweetness"

I thought my lyric does touch on the sentiment /sincerity..lookin on bright side .etc..
but have a listen and a read,
comments very appreciated
and on to the next pitch!

I honestly think the reviewer mis-read the lyric.

It is certainly about the long lasting relationship that stands together no matter what. I think it is a wonderful, touching lyric that goes directly to the heart of the request. Do they ever do second opinions? Or is that frowned upon.

Hey Judy, thank u for responding and confirming what I wrote.
I have the same opinion its been mis -read , or screener did not understand it.
and Im sure theyre word is final.

Hi John, this is a great track! Its really unfortunate it was returned. i am not familiar with the requirements of the listing, so I can't comment on wether you are on target or not, yet the lyrics seem to completely convey the requirements. However, having said that I am sure it will be picked up soon by someone!

My guess is that the chorus lyrics sound like future tense rather than present tense. I mean, it sounds like you're talking about what it will be like, someday when you have love.

If the lyric had been, "Now there's Love" I presume there wouldn't have been a problem. I'm not 100% certain about this...just my best guess.

I wrote it without saying it directly " cuz when there is love , we got it all.

I really like the singer, very smooth! Sounds a la Bee Gee's to me.. but agree with the screener on the lyric. The offending word is the "when" in When there is love, as it makes it sound like they have it all (ONLY) "when", implying that under normal circumstances it's not like that. And even when there is love it's kinda hard, soo, maybe they wanted something more inevitably feelgood..

So, I'm hearing it might be vague. I'm not hearing it's not about lasting love, just a misinterpretation. Good call, I suppose you could have said "cause" instead of "when".

There's that tangled mess of a path that says "say things in a new and different way, don't be obvious, but be clear, but not too clear because that is cliche, but cliche is good if you say it in a new and different way but always speak from your heart but don't be maudlin but if you just change this one word but."

It's a good song, Johnny. Great delivery. Will be perfect in another pitch.
