My Neighbor's Back

Post by ernstinen » Sat Aug 12, 2006 1:21 pm

My neighbor's back. Remember the paranoid psychotic dude that threatened to "Torch our place!?"He's back harrassing my wife and me again.A couple of weeks ago, my wife was out gardening and heard a sound like a snake coming out of his townhome: "Ssssssssick! Ssssssssick!"The following day, he yelled at her "GET OUT OF HERE!"We've heard pounding on our common wall again, but today was the worst event. My wife took out new kitty to the vet, and on the way home, she turned on our narrow, private road. No more than 12" from her rear bumper was our neighbor, weaving back and forth, trying to PASS her at best, trying to run her off the road at worst.Debra came in crying and shaking, and I talked her into going with me to the police station and file a report (one of many so far). The desk cop was really nice, and wrote up what happened, even volunteering that this nut may be a 5150 (no, not a Van Halen album). We now have enough evidence to get a restraining order. Our attorney is going to file on Monday.I'd beat the shit out of this ~~~~~~~ asshole, but with my luck *I* would be the one to go to jail. Thanks for letting me vent.Ern Reason for edit: I'm not a racist.

Hmmm, an Iranian terrorizing women and kitties!I don't think calling a cease fire and negotiating this with him will do any good (didn't you try that already?)You may want to protect yourself instead.

Ciao - sorry to hear about this, Ern. I'm glad you are getting a restraining order -- this person is obviously mentally disturbed. How sad that you can't enjoy your lovely home. Please take care, warmlyVikki

Good luck, Ern. Myself, I'd rather "be judged by twelve than carried by six". Watch your back, man!Ed

Hey Ern, I hope this guy finally gives you and your family some peace...the type of situation you describe can be real sticky to deal with, and it's a big bummer that it's so close to home.I hate to play the role of the PC Police here, but is his country of origin relevant to the story?Respectfully,Andre

But the fact is this guy was raised in a male dominant, eye-for-an-eye society where men are taught to bully women and keep them subservient. THAT'S what drives him nuts about my wife and triggers his insanity. It's too obvious to ignore. His wife is Korean, and he treats here like a piece of shit. Nice guy.Ern

THAT'S what drives him nuts about my wife and triggers his insanity. It's too obvious to ignore. That is hard to argue with; some statements that may seem like prejudice are culturally factual...or maybe they're both?I guess I'm just hopeful and open to the possibility that not all Iranians would choose to abuse their wives and other women, despite an upbringing in a society that encourages the repression of females...especially after they choose to live in a country (the USA) where more equitable treatment between genders is commonplace. Also, if the man harrassing your wife wasn't obviously from another country, would you have referred to him as an "American asshole?"Quote:[His wife is Korean, and he treats here like a piece of shit.Is her Korean origin somehow indicative of her willingness to take his abuse? This reminds me of a situation I was in as a teenager. My skateboard had been stolen from a party, and I had seen several people from a certain country hanging around it before it went missing. When I discovered its absence, I let my anger (and a few beers) get the best of my tongue, and I have been regretful of the racist comments I let fly ever since that day...especially since I discovered afterward that the skateboard wasn't missing after all; it had merely been placed in the closet by the host so as not to get lost or stolen. You are going through a very frustrating experience, but you might regret it later if you let your anger spill over onto those not responsible.By the way, what did the police have to say?Andre

Andreh, it seem that your thing is to argue about everything intellectually. I've been dealing with this emotionally for one and a half years. It's really affected our lives adversely.I'm not going to argue with you about this.End of conversation.
