Ohhh Kel,Looky, looky. I don't have time to play around with this tonight so I'm passing it along without any testing, but...Question:Is it possible to embed a Tunepack? I have music in different genres and it would be cool for me to make one Tunepack of say – jazz – so I can ut it on the jazz page of my website, and another of say – electronic.Of course another way round this would be to be able to make a widget but with me being able to select certain songs for that widget only – any chance of that being possible? And the fantastic answer goes like this:1. login to your profile. 2. Click the ”+” button beside any song you want to include on the music player widget for that album. This will put the song on a playlist called BOOKMARKED on your profile page under the PLAYLIST tab. 3. Once you have all the songs you want included in the widget on that bookmarked playlist, click the PLAYLIST tab on your profile and then the orange NEW button to create a new playlist. Name it whatever you want the widget name to be at the top of the widget (the album name) 4. Highlight the BOOKMARKED playlist and select all the songs you want to include and click the orange COPY button, and choose the new playlist you’ve created for your album 5. Highlight the new playlist you created, it should have all the songs you want to include on it. Then click the EMBED button to choose between several different size player widgets.Hopefully that helps explain it. It is a bit complicated.Sounds pretty sweet huh?!B

Hmmm, Derick I was wrong, reverbnation is an embedded flash player. Just was studying the code and low and behold, its clearly a flash player. Ignore all my previous comments about using embedded Flash players. Apparently I have no problem in using them, as I am and will be using the reverbnation widget throughout the site now.B

Hi Bryan;I think you're off to a good start. A few suggestions:1. Make the social networking links smaller -- here's a site that has a nice icon-based rollover way of accessing them:http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/li ... _care.php2. Decide about third person vs. first person in your text.3. Nice template, although graphics are loading slowly (and I have fast DSL!). 4. It would be good to add clients/ placements down the road. And think about answering the question "What makes you different from others out there?" And lean your words towards that.5. Here's a good tutorial site on all kinds of HTML coding. It's got very visual step by step guidelines to doing all kinds of tinkering with your code. E.g. how to create/ add tables/ anchor links, etc. http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com/6. Cross-linking to others helps to get you higher up in search engines.7. "One stop solution" may evoke a negative response in those who equate it with Hitler's "Final Solution" slogan. Might be good to find another way to say this.8. Other than that, I think this is a good start. ! Good luck. Macs rule! ,Suz

It might be worth the investment to hire a Marketing/PR person to write the bio. It's very challenging to write for yourself. I'm a great writer and help my clients a lot with their stuff - but I still hired someone else to help me with my bio. Also, in thinking about language - it's a good idea to think about who your target audience is and use language that speaks to them - their words, their concepts.I have a couple of great classes recorded about these concepts as well as SEO and making a website that sells for you on the Artist's EDGE Membership. In particular:Pick Your NicheInterview with Patrick SchwertdfegerInterview with Jeri Goldsteinhttp://artists-edge.com/join

Oh - and as a complete technophobe myself - I absolutely love the wysiwyg features and ease of SEO with wordpress.

Debra, I'm not seeing where to access those articles on your "join Artist Edge" page. Perhaps you can post some of the info in those classes here?

Thanks Suz!May 24, 2009, 10:46pm, suzdoyle wrote:1. Good idea.May 24, 2009, 10:46pm, suzdoyle wrote:2. Decide about third person vs. first person in your text. The text of this thing is gonna take me the longest to nail down. I still haven't really figured out the "angle" of this thing yet. I know its my site and I want to point people to my music, but I'm still missing the focus. Till I figure that out, the text and tense are all place holders.May 24, 2009, 10:46pm, suzdoyle wrote:3. Nice template, although graphics are loading slowly (and I have fast DSL!). Really? How slow? I've tried it on a few different machines and haven't noticed a huge lag, but I have noticed a slight one as everything is coming together. I might get into the code and interlace the graphics to minimize that effect.May 24, 2009, 10:46pm, suzdoyle wrote:4. It would be good to add clients/ placements down the road. Cross-linking to others helps to get you higher up in search engines.Definitely! Gonna beat that one into the ground right before and after I launch. I figure I'll link back to it from everyplace I can get my hands on and into. And it will be included in all my sig's. And I have another site planned, which will be the companion piece to this, but that's for next year. May 24, 2009, 10:46pm, suzdoyle wrote:7. I figured it made me sound like a used car salesman and was planning on scratching that line, and really that entire block of text, but Hitler?! That can't be good. Never heard of that slogan before.May 24, 2009, 10:46pm, suzdoyle wrote:8. Other than that, I think this is a good start. ! Good luck. Macs rule!
