I think SWING/MEDIUM TEMPO ROMANTIC SONGS for or an upcoming recording project for a jazz/swing band would be a PERFECT example of a use for these kind of songs

One of my fav old Police hits, walking on the moon http://youtube.com/watch?v=ltUiKvNsgJ0is an example of a song without a distinct chorus that is such a great piece of art and a multimillion hit too.So if the song is right; sure. And if you haven´t seen Cas Haley´s version of the same song from "America´s got talent": here it is - worth a lookseehttp://youtube.com/watch?v=yuqjYeXBLJEAnd what about Stevie Wonders "Isnt she wonderful". Is that verses only or all choruses? I don´t know but it sure works. Wonders!

I submitted a song to the jazz/swing listing mentioned by Paults. It was indeed in AABA form. However this is probably the only song I have ever written in this structure and I did it specially as an exercise. I have not got an assessment of it yet but I will let you know the outcome. The song quoted by Geo could be regarded as using a refrain (I will, yes I will) which is repeated throughout the song. It could also be a seen as chorus however. If you repeat any section often enough does it not become a chorus?I suspect that as long as you have a catchy hook then the structure is not of primary concern.

I have just got this Email that will be all to familiar to some of you.Dear Malcolm,We listened carefully to your song(s) listed below, but unfortunately,it wasn't right on target for Dispatch listing #D080114JZ:Whether the song structure was to blame I have no idea - you don't get a critique with a dispatch listing. However it was probably just a crap song!
