Re: OK - I'M READY NOW
Steve,I know EXACTLY which song you're talking about (the little girl.) Was that you singing??!! INCREDIBLE!!!I'll definitely want to try your technique. Makes perfect sense. And RLD and Allen...Recording in a studio was such a new thing to me when I was doing this, that I know I felt very inhibited (which shows in the tone/emotions,) even tho I'm not an "inhibited person" in real life.Using motions and gestures would be very freeing in that setting, I would think.THANKS guys!!

CINDY.....I Thought the tempo for this track was just right... .Good country song with Good lyrics and your voice fits it like a glove... .The productions not great but it's good. The only thing that I feel is missing to make this song sail, is some harmony parts in a chorus... This is just my opinon....Good Luck With It...jay........

cindy--a studio? what's that? LOL. yeah on the hand gestures, the movement of the body, etc and standing up while singing, duh (i sometimes sit down!) and what's been said is all right on. i believe that what happened was exactly the studio atmosphere--got to block that out if you can, talk about intimidating...but again, you don't have to be joe cocker!! Re: OK - I'M READY NOW
hey, listened to your song, its good, but the lyrics are more folksy than country, especially when you're using regional slang like o'er instead of over etc, o'er seems Irish to me, I dig it myself but I don't think It's Nashville bound In my opinion, I'd like for you to prove me wrong thoughTake care!

Re: OK - I'M READY NOW
Cyndy,When posting songs, I have found it very beneficial to post what my goal is for the song. Are you shooting to pitch the song to contemporary Nashville artists or do you plan to pitch the recording of the song to film-tv. It makes a difference in how we would comment. We can give you more targeted advice if we know your goals.I don't think this is a song you can pitch to today's artists. It is too traditional for today's artists. But you may already be thinking this.I'd like to hear a faster tempo and a 'hook'. I think the lyric may be too poetic and too 'deep' for a country audience.A few of the lyric lines are a bit clunky, like:.... And reach them with more than just ropeAs I am typing this, your second song is playing. I like it better musically than this one.Dean

Re: OK - I'M READY NOW
Thanks Dean, Ontario, and Warren (again... ha!)Great idea, Dean, to post the intended purpose of the song... only problem is, I'm not sure exactly WHAT the purpose is for the song.... yet. LOLAnd I wasn't sure if the song would fit more in a "folk" category than "country," although it has such a traditional melody.Perhaps the best use of the song might be for film/TV... after getting it tweaked (possibly with a chorus, etc.) I honestly hadn't thought of pitching it for that market.And... about my 2nd song you heard - "Dancin' The Day Away" - some people have a real problem with the words in the 3rd verse (too controversial for some people)... but I really like the song myself. So thanks for your encouragement.

Re: OK - I'M READY NOW
Hi Cyndy I'm not sure about all the technical things mentioned above. I will leave that to the experts. I just know I like your song it has a lot of down home wisdom and a lot of thought behind it. The music is very fitting and your vocal phrasing is right on. Also your production is very good. If you are going to do the song for raido or film I think you are ready to take it to the studio and let the your producer and engineer worry about all the other stuff. If you are going to pitch the song to another artist as a demo I think your demo would be good enough. mB
