I am glad to hear you're doing better and got treatment. Depression is a tough ailment and much misunderstood. A particularly good friend of mine suffered for many years from this and only recently got on medication..It has made a world of difference to them......I hope it does for you too.

Derek.

THANKS, EVERYONE! It's amazing how much better I feel. I actually went out and bought a basketball the other day and have shot hoops twice so far! I met a 10-year-old boy at the local park who was shooting around, and asked him if I could join him, 'cause I wanted to try out my new b-ball. He was so nice, saying "Good shot!" every time I made one (which was rare, since I haven't played in 20 years  ). I'm a little rusty, but it came back quickly, like riding a bike (which I've also done recently!). --- It was so cool that during this "don't talk to strangers" era that this kid chatted it up with me. He really has some talent, doing a weave with the ball between his legs and making some nice moves around the basket. I asked him if he played on a team, and he said "Yes, I play point guard on my school team and forward on my summer club team." (Club Team? We didn't have such a thing when I was his age!). He asked me if I played team ball, and I said "Yea, in 7th & 8th grade, but I had two problems: Small hands, and couldn't jump!" He said "I don't jump very well either." I told him to really practice dribbling with his left hand, because that's hard for me. He said "Are you right handed?" and I said yes. He said "So am I, but I'll practice more with my left hand." Great kid.

I'm back to another love of mine, photography. Taken some nice shots with my new Canon. 3-4 months ago I didn't even go out of the house, so these are big little steps! --- I also am going to copyright my 6 novels that I wrote before my latest bout with depression. --- It's nice to be back "on earth," and I appreciate all of your posts very much.

Ern 8-) :D

Ern, I am so happy for you - and you really do sound happy. And congrats on the photography, the novel and the basketball playing! :)

Cher:)

So glad to hear the good news, Ern! I've been dancing around the edges of that dark landscape for a few months myself, so it's nice to be reminded that these things pass.

Be well, treat yourself kindly, and keep a sense of humor.

Welcome home.

Richard
