I just gave a listen to these and I have to say I am really impressed. Speaking as a sax player I have to say this sounds awful close to the real thing. Maybe just a little weak in the altissimo (higher ranges) but still awful good. Certainly the best by far I have ever heard in a sample. The sound is an interesting cross between an older 40's-50's style sound and the more contemporary smooth jazz sound, which makes it great for either situation.A year or two back I ran across Maciej Mulawa on Soundclick. It looks like he did these demos and I have to say he did an excellent job. There is a link to his Soundclick page below if you want to give a listen to some of his other compositions. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default ... dID=677745

Sadly, I've been unable to purchase the violin and cello versions; the trumpet set and a wind controller would be a big help chez Mojo. Anybody have news about the availability of those string instruments?

According to Garritan:The Strad and Gofriller have been discontinued. We will be coming out with a new string library - GOS2 - later this year. It will have sections from our original GOS library plus solo Strad, Gofriller, viola and bass in our new ARIA player. More information will be available when we get closer to release so please watch our website/forum in the coming months. So it would appear that they will be re-releasing them in their proprietary player. Perhaps the licensing agreement with Native Instruments ran out and they can no longer sell them on the Kontakt Player platform.Another possibility is that the collaboration between Garritan and Giorgio Tommasini was ended for one reason or another. It is my understanding that Garritan owned the samples, but Giorgio owns the sample alignment technology which made those instruments possible. So if their joint venture ended, neither would be able to sell the products any longer...If that's the case I would expect the Samplemodeling folks to eventually release their own solo strings.
