I'm definately gonna download a demo and try it at home, I've tried listening to it at work - but you all know with this crappy headphone I can't hear properly - maybe it's my hearing ....Didn't he play with Miles Davis at the Grammys?

Pianoteq has been out for a couple of years. It uses additive synthesis instead of samples (except for little noises), which lets them model a lot of piano behaviors that not much else does.Ultimately it doesn't sound as good as a really good sampled piano, but it's close and it has a much smaller computer footprint. I use it a lot as a tool when I want to plunk something out without waiting for samples to load.

Which one? The new Quantum Leap Pianos is incredible.But you need a monster computer to run them properly, because they have a *lot* of samples.

I haven't tried the new East West piano, I'm sure it's awesome but, as Nick says, it will need some horsepower. I have some other Play libraries and they sound fantastic but they hit the CPU pretty hard.I've been partial to the Sampletekk pianos, particularly the 7CG (Yamaha 7 foot). http://www.sampletekk.com/ They were recommended to me by our friend matto.The Sampletekk pianos only run in Kontakt and some of the other soft samplers, they don't have their own player. The 7CG sounds really great and it has separate samples for key down, key up and pedal down along with tons of samples for every note. It's the best feeling sampled grand I've played (I haven't played them all), the pedal down samples really add to the realism. I prefer it over Ivory for what I've been doing lately.I haven't played the Piano Tek modeled piano yet. It has gotten mixed reviews and I haven't gotten around to loading the demo up yet to make up my own mind.For the money, Sampletekk is great as far as sampled pianos go.Cheers,Mazz

Well, the other ones to check out are Art Vista Virtual Grand (great character); Synthogy Ivory, expecially the Italian Grand; Galaxy II; and Blüthner Digital Model One.I'm probably forgetting some other good ones...

I CAN'T BELIEVE THE NEW EASTWEST/QUANTUM LEAP PIANOS ARE FRIKKEN 263Gb in size?!?!?! That is MADNESS!!! how much cpu does it chow? I got 2.1ghz core 2 duo with 3gb ram... should I upgrade to a quadcore cpu for this bad boy?! As it sounds AMAZING and I want it hahahaha

Mind you and an additional hdd just for the samples.... MADNESS!!!! Never mind, just read the minimum requirements and I'm definately gonna have to upgrade....
