Quote:Bob:Further, watch for Apple to enter the hardware arena in the near future. They're not going to let all the other manufacturers profit on hardware options for their software forever. Maybe they'll buy MOTU or a similar company; who knows?Blessings,Craig Actually they already have. They are in bed with Apogee. (Frankly, if I were them that is who I would court). I am sure like the iPhone deal with AT&T, Apple is making a few bucks on every sale. Apogee's hardware is at the top and there is not a ton of competitors as far as quality goes. They are developing quite a line with the Ensemble, Symphony and now the Duet. All designed for the Mac and Logic. So if you want flawless integration along with premier A/D conversion, that is the way to go.

Kouly:Good point! What I was referring to was not getting into bed with someone, but actually marrying them! Apogee would be an excellent choice; however, Apple may want to also consider something in more of the MOTU price range for those who don't want to shell out the big bucks, or who just graduated from GB to Logic Express. That's where M-Audio, MOTU, and some of the others have grabbed some market share. Even Digi with the LE systems. I agree, though, that Apogee would be my first choice with Logic...Blessings,

I think the Duet is aimed at that market and at $499their aim is pretty good. The fact that Apple is in bedApogee means there could have been a marrige and we were just not invited to the ceremony. Would not be the first time I somehow got left off the invitation list
