If I can capture a "broadcast quality" then great.OK, now you're talking... I say that is a REALLY smart choice to make. And even if you aren't ultimately happy with what you come up with, it ought to be GREAT practice trying to keep things as pared down as you can.Be sure to let us hear the next 5 tracks. <eg>

O.K. --- NOW we're talking!!! Mazz sent me this mp3 of Jimmy Webb doing a bare-bones version of his great song "Wichita Lineman." This brought tears to my eyes, and my wife broke down crying when we listened to this! Shows what a GREAT song can do with just a piano/vocal arrangement and a little guitar:http://www.box.net/shared/7jxuj72804Thanks, Mazz --- Enjoy!Ern

Of course it can be a good exercise to come up with as many ways as possible to deliver the song. The bass can have either a straight feel, the 3 side of the clave feel, or a latin feel. The rhythm guitar can be a reggae thing, a singer/songwriter thing, blues, rock, pop, urban or a jazz thing. The keyboard can be any of those too. The drums can play straight eigths, straight sixteenths blah blah blah. But we usually have to finally pick one and only one from all the options.

Yeah I listened about 10 times. Downloaded it too. Gonna keep it around as a a perfect example of a really moving, piano / vocal. Would it make it thrus Taxi screeners? I would say absolutely, as long as that kinda song was what was required. Just beautiful. thx Ern (&Mazz) Aug 4, 2008, 9:16am, ernstinen wrote:Aug 3, 2008, 6:56pm, horacejesse wrote:Gulp!!! Horace, did your wife have a snarl on her face and was she holding an oozie at the time?
