Speaking for myself, I've always been better at re-writes than writing, kinda like che, above, particularly when it comes to lyrics.(music's always been easier for me, I love to improvise) I'm not a fountain of ideas, lyrically, I'm much better at refining and polishing the ideas, once presented. Makes it hard to start a collaboration, on my side, though I do keep an idea book.

I think the ability to re-write is insanely important....so what Mojo & Che can offer has a ton of value too. Especially if the original writer is so wrapped up (or confused!) by the muse they can't put enough structure into the ideas that come out.Having someone seeing the ideas through new eyes, who can help outline the gaps in the story, is a credible contribution, IMO. Lots of people can start a song...but we have to finish it before we can record and share it. Having a patient co-writer can facilitate getting a song unstuck, as long as the personalities match (really creative folks can sometimes be very opinionated, or very shy, and both traits are a challenge in a "give-and-take" environment).Funny how transitioning to evaluation is harder to do on our own songs, because we've created the barriers in the message and we can't really see them. If someone else shows me a song they have 80% finished, I can be more objective with their work by asking: "who is speaking here?", "why do they feel this way?", "you're saying the same thing in V2 as in V1...what new info can you give?" and finally "have you thought about...?"Sorry to ramble...I've written 3 half-finished songs in the past week, and I'm officially in "scatter brain" mode.Curse you muses!!!("No...wait...I didn't mean that...you know I love you!...COME BACK MUSES! Don't leave me now!!!!!")
