Just had my third viewing Chits!Great to see you in the flesh! Really good performance. I love to hear writers sing their own songs.Powerful lyrics.I do hope the right person comes across the video. My vote is for the word "dead". In the context of "dead man walking" I think it fits nicely. And I agree with Warren, it does take some guts to post when you're not a performer.Well done!Dave.

Way to go Chits! I really like this tune and your voice is sounding really great!I could hear Lucinda Williams singing this song, like Warren mentioned it has a bluesy vibe to it, could go Alt Country.I think it would work well for film-TV.Very nice job!

Thanks, Dave....yeah, I was scared to perform, and I'm a bit ragged around the edges, but I'm so glad you're liking what you're hearing. When you used the words 'powerful' in response to my lyrics, well, that makes me feel like I wrote something pretty good. Marc, I really love Lucinda Williams....lF ONLY she would sing one of my songs. Thanks for giving me a listen.....you guys are great!

Hey Chits - I love this and I vote to keep the word "dead" in there, to me that's the song and it'll be watered down without it. I like the dark vibe even if it is a tough sell, sometimes you gotta write for yourself right? Definitely got a Gillian Welch kind of old timey vibe which from me is a huge compliment cuz she is one of my very favorite writers. Good stuff, sing this one yourself! eo.

I write the lighter stuff too, but I like variation, so writing about darker stuff is fun and challenging. And I love Gillian, so I don't mind that comparison. As Warren said, those kinks are what people might like. But there is a fine line between authentic and REALLY bad, and if this video was really bad, I just wanted to get y'all's thoughts...I probably would remove the video....but it seems to be doing okay. I think I should have been more clear about my intentions with Dead Woman Walking....I don't really want to pitch this type of song to Nashville anyway. I have other songs to pitch commercially. This is part of a You Tube project, just something fun to do and get my work out there to the public. Thanks once again.
