would YOU spend the $10...? (listing & songs)

Post by tedsingingfox » Fri May 15, 2009 4:57 am

OK, so here's the brand new listing, just out this morning:New Listing Relaxing, MELODIC INSTRUMENTAL COMPOSITIONS needed by Austrian Producer for compilations to be used in European Wellness Hotels. He wants smooth, flowing melodic music and says definitely "no jazzy elements, no solo piano only, no heavy drums and no loud effects". He said the most preferred lead instruments should be acoustic or soft electric guitar and piano. Please note: He wants to hear original compositions only and doesn't want to hear New Age sounding material for this particular listing. We are currently running a New Age Instrumental opportunity from this company as listing #Y090603NA. These instrumentals must be Broadcast Quality (really great home recordings are fine). Their deal is a non-exclusive license along with mechanical royalties paid per unit sold. Please submit one to three compositions online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Monday, June 22, 2009. TAXI #S090622INAnd here are the two songs I'm wanting to submit:"Just Say It"javascript:playSong("/stream/120490/Just Say It _flute and guitar_.mp3","Just Say It (flute and guitar)");OK, that "short cut"/link is worthless. TAXI, PLEASE, please, please address this issue...please. It used to only take one click of a button to set up links to music ON OUR TAXI HOSTING PAGE. PLEASE fix this for those of us (read: "ME") who consider themselves having a good day just by being able to know how to OPEN a computer. Please. (OK, sorry. Down off the soapbox, Ted. Down, boy. Down, I say...)Which means this one will be, too..."Still the One"javascript:playSong("/stream/118174/Still the One.mp3","Still the One");Sorry to have to ask, but can I get a little help here? Either a link to my TAXI page or proper links to my songs?I'm so pitiful sometimes. Anyway, if I CAN get a little help...allowing some of you to give a listen... I'd appreciate your feedback. Both of these songs feature acoustic guitar leads (as per the listing), but they share the leads with flute (#1) and accordian (#2). Is it too much, or can I get away with it? Me, personally, I think they are both right up the listing's alley. So...would YOU spend the $10?And I'm thinking about sending them in as two seperate submissions. Why? Because they are very similar in many ways and I'd rather they each stand alone for the screener's ears. Does that make any sense? Thanks for putting up with this very long (and very NEEDY) post. Ted

by the way... after listening to both tracks, "Just Say It" was more "relaxing" to me than "Still The One." If you have a way of editing your mix, I'd replace the flute with an acoustic piano sound in "Just Say It." It may be right on target as is, but I think if your two main "leads" were acoustic gtr and piano, then it would definitely be right on target for what the listing asked for. Good stuff.Just my $0.02.- Big Blue

Y'all ROCK. Thank you.Sorry to say, I do NOT have any way to play with/edit the mix. No recording capabilities at home (YET), although I suddenly do have some equipment to start learning about how to use. (Anybody in the area willing to give me a few hands on lessons? PM me. We can work out some sort of trade... ) These are pretty much "take it or leave it" mixes. So, would you spend the $10 anyway?THX...Ted

And if I can ever tempt you with dinner (not necessarily pizza, either), I'd truly appreciate it if you could squeeze me into your startlingly busy schedule for a couple of hands-on pointers with this equipment I've suddenly inherited.(Repeating myself here 'cause you had already replied before I posted my slightly modified version. ) Thanks, Triple-B.
