Re: On Our Porch Swing
Thank you all very much! Had to take a couple days away from doing any recording... I had to put the studio down for a second before i started sputtering and talking to a click track. Cam, thank you very much! That means a lot, as ive always highly respected your writing.AFA the chorus, im going to reconstruct it a bit. Wig, and Vince gave me some good ideas and i can see that the story is not all patched together perfectly yet. As for it being a 'more country' track or more A/C id say this one will probly be more geared toward the country style, given the content. I want the story to have little confusion to the listener. Rock/AC doesnt always have to fit like a glove, country seems to have the highest standard in storytelling stucture and overall lyrical impact imo. Isp, thanks for the listen and compliments. Though, you likely havent spent a lot of time on the P2P, cuz there's a ton a great art around here. Im sure your intentions were good, but i found your comment about 'the art' around here a bit disrespectful. Were a friendly group and everyone has their own styles and preferences. We all support each other, cuz thats what friends do! Thanks for your time and comments, see ya 'round the campus. Vince, thanks again. Yea, you have given me some definite food for thought. I will be revisiting the perspective, theme, and chorus of the tune till i find the proper mesh.Andy, appreciate it! Wig, thanks for the book man! Looks like some great stuff. I may be emailing you with a few other q's in regards to ideas on your sugg's. Marc, Thanks for the encouragement, and kind words. I got your email, just havent had a chance to get the response out yet, but ill send you the settings i used when i get a minute. Also send me the deadline date for the acoustic track in case i forget to ask in the email.Derek, thanks for the 2nd over. The lyrics appear to be a little unclear and the chorus will need some revision. Will post the updates. Thanks again folks.J

Re: On Our Porch Swing
Sorry J,I'm very late on this one... listening now...man... this is very good... I love the "lead" guitar accompanying the Chorus vocal parts...There's a touch of Maroon 5 and Snow Patrol in this IMHO... and that is fantastic!I think Production wise is pretty close there...Can't think of anything to point out except that I really enjoyed this track...-Kel

Re: On Our Porch Swing
ha hey jamie!man derek read my frickin' mind with the Hornsby comparison! reminds me of like "The Way It Is" album 2009 ha ha! I dig the whole vibe... I see what Bill means on the bass but it also gives some motion too... the only thing I'd like to hear tweaked arrangement wise is the riffing guitar in the chorus section.. it seems to distract from the vocal too much for me but is a cool idea. take care!
