Kel,There are alot of cool elements to this track, and I think that is one of it's problems. As a listener I find it hard to find what you intend for me to focus on. I think it's alright to have alot of things going on in a track, but it seems like everything is "in my face" all of the time.I don't know if you can "score" this, in other words write out what you have done in standard notation, or as an alternative, just sketch out on paper what section ( strings, horns, rhythm section) is playing on a particular section. When I try to add orchestral sounds to a piece I try to envision the players executing the parts. For instance, string players get bored to tears playing whole notes ( sometime referred to as "footballs") so, what could I write to engage and keep their interest. Possibly parts where the violins are playing whole notes but the cellos are playing an interesting counterpoint in syncopated eighth notes. As a violinist, that would make my "footballs' more interesting.Brass, on the other hand need time to breath and rest or their lips fall off their face!!!Percussion usually accent or comment on what everyone else is playing.I also try to visualize the ensemble playing my piece in a concert setting. How would the audience attention be focused. Am I giving them too much information or not enough information to keep them engaged.Your track, so far, is giving me too much information all along the journey. I think if you hold off with a few elements to surprise me later. ( and provide the necessary build) it would be more interesting. Also, harmonically moving to a new key center or chord change could add some build .HTH ChuckBTW This type of track is very challenging.

Really compelling piece; sort of forces you to listen up, and follow along. I almost hear a bit of 'James Bond' in this. Don't know much about the genre your submitting it for, but this one is worth poking down $5 for sure. Really nice piece -- best of luck with it.Erich

Thanks U Chuck... I am definitely gonna pay close attention to Ur brilliant feedback, not just for this piece but for all my future Orchestra compositions... It is so true, what U said & I sort of get the idea, kinda will break down certain parts, make the diff. parts interact but in it's own element... This is a skill I feel worth sharpening & I appreciate U Sharing the helpful Info.Thank U Erich... heh, I think the moment I added some horns in, it became 007ish.Appreciate the Listen & comment & very much so, the Luck... yes, I think I will take a risk & bet on this one without any expectations... At least now it's more Orchestra sounding =)-Kel

It's really great! I don't know if it works or not, if you watch "True blood", that music is very close to this I think. You have a lot of details, and you will come along way with that! What program are you using for the orchestra? I'm not sure about the staccato strings, they sounded a bit unnatural, and the brass in the end, it's too perfect sounding. If you are able, make the orchestra more dynamic within each instrument. BUT, the sustained strings sounded good to me.

Kel,Excellent work. Really enjoyed it. I'm no judge of what orchestral means, but this will find a home. I'd love to hear the first version, is there still a link to it.Dean

Thank U Orest, I tried to youtube the soundtrack for "True Blood" without success... hmmm... gotta find it some other way. Appreciate the encouragements & feedback... I use Garageband Jampack4 for the Orchestra parts... Is EWQLSO the best? I read somewhere U said it's Gr8...Thanks Dean... Ur comment motivates me to keep working on this style which is so very new to me... The first version is called DEVIL'S SPAWN Industrialized & can be found on my taxi site 2nd track: www.taxi.comThanks Musicliner... Wow, that is so good to hear... I really enjoyed that "Iron Man" movie... seen it quite awhile back & forgot abt it... I should check it out again yea...Peas,Kel

You have talent, and I get the impression that you have a lot of inspiration! But, if there are many people with talent, and a few of them have the latest best software, I think they will choose these people. Yes, I use EW, but not only, I use miroslav, omnisphere and other percussion software and layer things together. I've begun to do this lately, and the result is better! So, my advice: Invest in better software, I just heard this about your sound on my laptop speakers. The thing is: Taxi might forward your song, but the library might want even higher sounding quality. True blood: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQI25J4v ... annel_page
