I think the music is too soft and mushy for the intense lyric and that the whole part about Israel should be removed, not because of any one personal religious/political opinion, but because it will make the song less marketable- like it or not. I also agree that a more subtle, "show me, don't tell me" approach to the lyric would make it better.CaseyCasey. I totally agree with you. To make the song more marketable to appeal to a wider audience, I would need to do what you suggest. I'm not clear on the show me, don't tell me idea however. Could you explain that further? Thanks.

Yes. I think we all agree that I should have spent more money for a better quality demo. But seeing that I didn't expect the song to go anywhere, it didn't seem like such a wise decision to spend a lot of money. Also, it couldn't be from somebody from Al Queda because they hate Jews and want to divide up Israel. I don't know the reverend Wright dude but he sounds like an interesting guy.

The lyrics are cool but something about the verse and chorus parts not gelling together for me...btw I'm really enjoying "Heart of Stone"!-KelI think I understand what you and others are saying about the verse chorus thing. I feel that the verse/chorus three times wears thin by the 3rd time. Again, maybe more instrumental interest added in/a better quality demo probably would have improved this. I'm sure if an artist took the song and added their own personal spin to the arrangement, this wouldn't be as obvious. Thanks for liking Heart of Stone. It seems that mostly only hardened blues/Jazz fans like that song (so I'm assuming you are a hardened blues/Jazz fan) and so far, the feedback is that they really love it. One person said it was the best song they'd heard in years and for sure, in their opinion, a number one smash hit (and did that comment ever make me feel like I was walking on clouds)...but fans of other types of music don't seem to get the appeal.

Interesting... Angelica didn't seem to to have an issue with my "marketing" oriented comments... even came back and asked for more information. Yet, you seem to have a problem with it... I'll try to turn down the halo a few watts so you can see better. Casey

Posting a song like this is obviously done looking for a reaction so I will oblige. The lyric is on a high bar level with Achy Breaky Heart. Painting any people with such a broad brush is ridiculous and shallow minded. You kick the hornets nest and wonder why you get stung. I'm working on an Evil Canadians song but am having trouble since you have no fatherless children, homeless people or abortion in your country. You do however have some great bacon. I have to wonder why you even care what we evil Americans think of your song. When your church gets its new town built in Guyana this would be a great recruitment song. You get your opinion, here's one from an evil American. Carry on. Dave

You get your opinion, here's one from an evil American. Carry on. DaveI'm looking forward to hearing your song, Djb. It should be interesting and I hope it does point out some of the things that Canadians are doing wrong and how they can get right with God too. However, in Canada, we don't have a 'divide up Israel' policy that I know of. Our Prime Minister is quite sympathetic to the Israeli situation. Usually, when America sneezes economically, Canada catches the cold but this time, strangely, our economy is doing quite well in spite of everything. Somebody else wondered what all of this stuff about Jews had to do with Christianity. God made a convenant with Abraham and with all his decendants. That bloodline led from Abraham to King David and straight to Jesus Christ. Jesus was a Jew. He was born a Jew and raised with Jewish beliefs and traditions. If and when Jesus returns to Earth, he's not arriving back in New York or Los Angeles or Paris, France. According to the bible, He's coming back to put his feet on the soil of Jerusalem. In fact, He's supposed to set up His Kingdom there. Jerusalem has extreme significance to God according to the bible, both the Old Testament and the New Testament. Dividing Israel is a giant no no according to the bible. God's covenant covers that city. Anyone or any nation that tries to divide up Israel or Jerusalem is going to have consequences such as a sudden downturn in their prosperous economy. The only way to prove whether this biblical theory is correct or not, would be for the Obama administration to change it's 'divide up Israel' policy and see if the American economy mysteriously has an upswing just as mysterious as it's sudden down swing. A change in policy is unlikely. If this biblical theory holds true, America will continue to suffer economically, as well as in other ways, as long as this policy remains in place. If someone doesn't believe in God or the bible, I'm sure this would seem quite ridiculous to them. If there is a God and the bible is correct, the consequences are the same whether people believe in it or not. Remember they said that even God couldn't sink the Titanic. America's 'divide up Israel policy' is a whole lot of people poking God in His eye and saying Nah nah nah nah nah nah! All I can say is, "Good luck to all of you. I wish you well."

Wow, you sure give Christians a good name. The love and empathy comes shining through. I wish I weren't going to hell so I could spend every moment of eternity with you... eo.

It shouldn't be that hard for people to stick to the song and not to bashing somebody for their art / creation. You may disagree with his message, but music is the ultimate freedom of speech arena.I applaud the original poster for speaking his mind whether or not people agree with it.

The song by it's very nature was written to provoke so as the song says in it's lyric, you reap what you sow. What about our freedom of speech to react to it? Yeah, I'm a smart ass about it so sorry about that but come on... if you're gonna dish it out ya gotta be able to take it, which to her credit she is. eo.
