I believe it was Mark Twain who said 'The climate in heaven is nice, but I'll take hell for the company'.This of course is no help on the song.. but I always liked Mark Twain.. if that helps any.Peace~!

(insert smilie here)LOL............good point. My bad.

Re: Warning! Overt Christian Lyrics!
I applaud mcanty's humble response to my last post. I must say that I resisted commenting on this lyric the first time it was posted (and thought to have been confiscated by the U. S. Border Patrol) with much hard won self control. The second time must have been too much of a poke in my eye and I could not resist. It also caught me at a weak moment coming off a three day crack binge and my illegitimate daughter had just had her third abortion(Me bein' an evil american and all). Anyway, sorry if I crossed the line and from now on I will try harder to heed this advice from Johnathan: "Let it go, folks. Stick to the song critique. If you disagree with the lyric, just say a quick "I don't agree with the lyric" and move on in the critique." Onward and upward.... Dave

And you now having given me a chance to read more of your views, sorry Pitterpatter but much to your protest, they are kind of by textbook definition, bigotry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigotry .And that's why the lyrics of your song are just bad. Because you take contentious issues well worthy of debate and with great things to be said for/against/about them, and slap a simplistic spin on them that no matter what anyone else believes for whatever myriad considered reasons, "God's punishing you coz you don't agree" which is a nasty thing to say, regardless of what you believe. So they're kind of puerile. If you did it with irony that could be brilliant, but there's not a trace of that, so they're just kind of "bad".I just thank God (or whatever) that we don't live in a theocracy - although it has to be said that the one-man-one-vote ideal is taking a massive beating on this thread too.ttp.s. how does this work in with your views.... this song on your myspace is arguably musically nowhere near the best one on there (your other stuff is good!). Yet in this case you choose to (rationally) explain that fact as being due to a lack of money or desire to spend it on a better demo, rather than (irrationally) because "God thinks this particular message doesn't deserve to be out there" - especially when Jesus is supposed to have said "let he who is without sin cast the first stone".Well. You learn something new every day. Who knew that having a difference of opinion from other people makes a person a bigot? Although, a lot of people do believe in God and the bible so it may be a more widely accepted opinion then you think. As I've said before, other people are entitled to their opinions. I believe bigots don't allow for other people to have their opinions. There's no way to prove my theory except for Obama to back off his plans to divide Jerusalem and Israel and then see if the economy improves. Or, alternatively, we could watch and see what happens to America when Obama makes efforts to push ahead with his plans to divide Israel and Jerusalem. Presumably, every time he meets with others to discuss the division or makes moves in that direction, more trouble will befall America. So, let's watch and see. Or maybe the economy will just miraculously improve all on it's own and Obama wil divide Jerusalem and Israel without any consequences. In that case, several people who've posted here will be proven correct. Let's just see how it goes. I assume Obama has policies that he intends to try to implement so we can all make our bets and see what happens. They can't be just little events. They need to be fairly large out of the ordinary events to be certain that it's God and not just coincidences. So, here's my list of possible disasters.Major earthquakes killing thousands and devastating many square milesVolcanic eruptions with major impactTidal waves with major impactNuclear meltdowns devastating miles of American soilOther environmental disasters such as oil or chemical spills with major impact Major terrorist attacksMajor economic upheaval/Job losses/DepressionNuclear attackWars with major impact on America Disease outbreaks with large death tollsLarge groups of people being poisoned ie tainted water or food.Forest fires devastating miles of landIf you guys are right, nothing will happen when Obama makes his move. If I'm right, look out America. Good luck to all of you. I wish you well in this experiment.

Re: Warning! Overt Christian Lyrics!
Jeeze.. I thought you want to talk about the song, I come back in and you are talking religion. All I can say, is if your in Canada and a praying person which it sounds like you are. It would behoove you to be praying for good things for the US.. because if she collapses Canada goes with her. That being said, living on the border I frequent with just as many Canadians as I do those from the United States. and ONE thing is certain.. there is 100 percent no difference.. they are all people with the same quirks, habits, some are nice, some are jerks etc etc.. The only difference between Canadians and Unites States as a 'people' is an imaginary line on a map. I know my share of political and religious ideologs on both sides of the imaginary line.Again though, one thing is certain, if the US goes down (and while all the castles are made of sand the US wont be going down this century) Canada goes with her.Hence my statement that if you believe in prayer, I would be praying for good things, not bad.Peace~!

Pitterpatter, apologies again for the bigotry thing... it's just that using your own personal image of what God wants as a tool for defining moral absolutes will always tend to paint one that way.But thanks for the list of disasters, though remember whilst you are deciphering for us what are mere "little events" and what are Acts of God, it has traditionally been insurance companies that we have enshrined with that responsibility - and attend the tale of AIG...Anyhow, may justice prevail, and America, Canada, Israel, Palestine, and indeed you, prosper. I have to get to bed. Seeya round

This whole thread reminds me why I don't believe in religion.
