The rockets line could work either way; I think I was just trying to help you shorten your chorus. That beat count thing I tried to do didn't work at all, as all the spaces I had inserted were taken away on the post. I was trying to recommend a pause after, "No" then come back in to hit the first syllable of "wasn't" on the next 1 beat and "time" on the following 1 beat.

oh I see. Thanks for clarifying that for me. I think I'll try that.My wife didn't know what R-P-G's were...but I think it might be implied even if you don't know you would understand.Andy

RPGs don't fall like rain at all, they have a fairly flat trajectory, and since they're pretty expensive by insurgent standards, they're nowhere near as numerous as raindrops. Mortar bombs, on the other hand, do fall like rain, and have the same number of syllables, or so my ex-Marine buddies tell me.

Well I just attended my first local chapter of NSAI (I usually go to Nashville) and I played this song. I was told that this was "a great song and could get cut" and received absolutely no constructive feedback (nor did I take the comment seriously because nobody there has a cut).Andy

hey that is some good news though!I think it could get cut but a lot of great songs never get cut ever, so you're done the easy part now!

You should swing down in April when Jason Blume will host another workshop where he brings in a publisher that you can pitch to.He alternates between critique and pitch workshops.
