ATTN: ORCHESTRAL METAL PEOPLE
I just got that East West Quantum Leap silver four days ago and after recovering from that ilok software crashing my cpu, I was able to put this together. Very new to the orchestral style so any tips greatly wanted. I turned the "metal" down so the orchestra sounds stayed up front. Not sure if that was good idea or not. Please let me know what ya think!!http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... tream=true

Hey johnnyb333,I like the track! Very big sounding. Are you submitting for a specific Taxi listing?I like the balance of metal and orchestra -- if there was any more metal it would be too much IMO.I would definitely *at least* edit out the guitar noise at the end if you'll be submitting to a listing, and better yet, write a quick and punchy ending ("button ending" as I'm sure you've heard of already).Damian

Re: ATTN: ORCHESTRAL METAL PEOPLE
Thanks Damian. I already sent it to the second listing but I am definitely gonna chop the end before I send it to the other listing. I like it better the ending chaotic and untied but for the sake of getting it forwarded you are probably right. Thanks again Damian!CINEMATIC/PROGRESSIVE ROCK INSTRUMENTALS in the stylistic range of Trevor Rabin, Jordan Rudess, John Petrucci, etc. are sought after by a Major Music Publisher with distribution through a huge Production Music Library. This Publisher is also an Emmy-winning Composer for daytime television and this is a fantastic opportunity to be introduced to a Publishing/Licensing relationship as well as the possibilities of future composition projects with a VERY successful industry pro. Excellent original compositions, performances and recordings are a must! This Publisher will be looking to sign 8-12 tracks for an upfront "buyout" fee that will be in the $2K range. While it will be an exclusive purchase of the material, this Publisher will not take any portion of your writer's share. He won't be looking for custom compositions, but rather a collection of "B" material -tracks that are laying dormant in your catalog. While we can be a bit more liberal for this one, you'll want to be sure that the compositions themselves are very well written and the recordings are Broadcast Quality. This material will be pitched primarily to Film/TV projects. Please submit 2-3 instrumentals online or per CD, but be prepared to send more if the Publisher gets in touch with you. He will ultimately be interested in signing 8-12 tracks for the buyout fee mentioned above. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than February 24, 2009.TAXI # S090224RKCONTEMPORARY ACTION DRAMA INSTRUMENTAL COMPOSERS are sought by an established Film Composer who is joining forces with well-known/ veteran Music Supervisor to create a production music catalog for Film and TV. They are not looking to license tracks but are hoping to find talent that they can commission new work from. They are looking to collaborate with composers who have excellent programming skills, the newest sample libraries and a commanding knowledge of their own sounds and techniques to the point where they can turn around a complex assignment quickly. IMPORTANT: For this particular listing, they want to hear examples of high impact Electronica, Trip-Hop, Rock, Metal, which is or can be mixed with lighter orchestral elements and percussion. NO VOCALS and compositions must be CUTTING EDGE. Please submit two to three compositions online or per CD, include bio. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS -- NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI -- and must be received no later than February 17 2009.TAXI # Y090217IN

Re: ATTN: ORCHESTRAL METAL PEOPLE
hi Johnnyb333... Gr8 track man!.. I felt that the strings could be pulled back just a little in the mix but maybe that's just a personal preference cos I love heavy guitars... I also submitted for the second listing, the high impact one. The songs are Chasing Light, Deep Inside and 8.. if U wanna check it out ^_^I just joined Taxi 2 weeks so far... hahah!Peace,Kelvin

Re: ATTN: ORCHESTRAL METAL PEOPLE
Hey Johnny,I like this a lot. In my opinion the metal side is done. Fini. The orchestra side basically where it needs to be, but it feels more like a sketch than the a final orchestration. I wouldn't change any of the lines or the structure, but I would beef it up by bringing in more instruments to support the strings, probably brass is the best choice to fill out behind the metal sounds. You might want to consider adding some brass tracks and copying your string parts to them, just to get a sense of how it feels, I think you'll immediately hear what I'm talking about. But don't leave it like that. I'd have the brass swell in and out to give the string lines a sense of sonic build. Not just a actual copy of the parts. Keep it up. I love this kind of stuff!B

Hey nice track man! I've been thinking of getting Silver myself so this is good to hear. One little quibble for me on this crappy headphones is I hear a persistent high frequency that seems to smear the mix a bit. Or maybe I'm hearing the scooped mids. Sorry that's vague...
