Love it! Love the lyric, great story telling, some great visual images .. hootchies on widgets .. Franklin's in shoes. Excellent people names.Sounds good too. Great groove. Love your vocal delivery on this. Especially love your delivery on the 'POINT BLANK' line.It could be a film song for an real edgy flick. Put it out there. Where's Quentin these days?Dean

Re: SEX! DRUGS! VIOLENCE!
thank you Steve, Warren and Dean.Dean, the most time spent on this whole song was getting the "Point Blank" line the way I wanted it. I was driving myself crazy trying to get the snare to hit right at "splattered". Funny how we freak about little stuff & never really know if it's gonna have the intended impact. In this case it turned out the way I wanted (for a change!)I'm gonna work on it a little . . . fix some flat vocals & fade out earlier and move on.Thanks again-

Absolutely love it Bill !!! Fantastic lyric.Great feel and atmosphere.Great instruments, especially Harp. What bass do you use.Like some of the others I would like to hear some harmonies, female, black gospel, easier said than done.I believe Dave K does a very good falsetto if somebody grabs his walnuts!!!! Michael.

Re: SEX! DRUGS! VIOLENCE!
Thanks Michael! The bass I used on this was a $119 SX fretless jazz bass copy from Rondo Music. I have (and have owned) probably 75 basses of all makes/models, vintage Fenders etc. and I rank this cheap-ass bass right at the top. I put a set of black tapewound Labellas on it & I absolutely love it. http://www.rondomusic.com/sjb62mgfllpb.html

Thanks Dave & Ellen! Michael, you'll dig it, a lot of bang for the buck . . . heck, the strings were 30% of the cost of the damn bass!Dean, I thought you were disturbed anyway BTW- A new (final) mix is up. I shortened it by :25 & cleaned up a few things I hope. Geez, I'm almost afraid one of you are gonna say that i somehow screwed it up!

Young man, you should be ashamed of yourself! Why I never! That's the problem, I wish I had - written it, that is.No nits at all. Wonderful capture. Very balanced. Great song. Pure delivery. It's a little too long for a TAXI submission, because I get the idea that they can't think on their feet.Someone will pick this up. You did a very nice job on this one. Thanks for sharing, Wig
