hi friendsmarty haene just finished producing the tune you heard several weeks ago, Just An Accident. some of you liked it. now if you hate anything, blame me please, i asked for the bass organ and the accordian thingee, and asked marty to build it, and he built it--but will anybody come? LOL...oh, i did sing it, so get your tomatoes ready...thanks for any comments, if you CAN'T hear it, i'll have it on my "other" page later...all the best,warrenhttp://www.broadjam.com/heinsitehttp://www.tax ... nt.mp3Just An AccidentVerse 1Broken windshield diamonds glisten in the sunThe Sarge jokes 'bout safety glass, the rookie just looks numbA chalk line on the pavement drew his final breathTraces one more story line, but this aint no movie setVerse 2He ran out from nowhere, from behind that Greyhound busShe said he was a lunatic, and man how right she wasShe told the cop she tried to swerve and glanced up at the crowdThen she fell down to her knees, and sobbed so very loudChorusNo lights on that county van, no wailing siren soundNo next of kin to notify, just a blanket as his shroudNo wasted words in mourning, not an extra second spentAfter all it's just an accidentAfter all it's just an accident(After all he was just an accident)(After all this was just an accident)Verse 3No preacher said last rights for him, 'cuz he had no rights at allHe left them with his needles in that dirty bathroom stallBut his wild ass smile had purpose, he knew it was his timeHe planned that mad dash perfectly--to never reach that center line

Sorry about the blank posts.... operator error. Really like the song Warren. Great guitar sound, with a nice over all production. The vocal track was delivered with a very convincing passion. Very believable. I'm of the mindset that a vocal performance is the single most important factor in any song that has vocals and you nailed it. Again sorry about the blank posts...brain farts. Nice jobMike

Hey Warren, there is some wicked sibilance on the vocals that ought to be zapped with a de-esser, other that that this is pretty cool. I think you ought to consider making this a bigger production one day. I don't know why but it reminds me a little of "I Don't Like Mondays"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yteMugRAc0

I really like this Warren!! I listened on the computer speakers and I agree with Bill about the siblance but it sounds to me like you might just need to roll of the highs on the reverb on the vocal a little more. I really like the story and the meaning (tongue in cheek), vocal sounds great to me! My only suggestion would be a little build in the end with maybe just a rim and bass drum coming in on the last bit so that it gives your ear a little twist. Something very simple and understated. Just to keep the sonic interest as you repeat the end. It's just a thought and I could be totally off. Great job - I love it!!Kitz

thanks kitz--and i've emailed marty about the vocal, it isn't huge, and he should be able to fix it pretty simply...on the ending, it's very much what i wanted (now anyway...LOL...) and as simple as i could vision...but hell, it's just $$...appreciate the listen!the best,wh

Re: New production--Just An Accident
WarrenI wouldn't be worried about tomatoes if I were you!I listened to this twice and, y'know, it's hard for me to critique work that someone has had professionally recorded. Because they're already so invested in the project. But I'll throw my humble 2c your way anyway.I echo Wade's words to you when he referred to an honesty and an innocence in your songwriting. He's right. That's no comment on your chops because I have very few of my own. It's a stylistic thing. You really do have a signature to your sound. To be very honest, sometimes it works for me and sometimes it doesn't. This time it did. I genuinely liked this. And I thought the vocal was most appropriate. My only nitpick is that I felt that the vocal could have used some harmonies as support in the second verse and chorus(es). This is nice work, Warren. And unusual in a good way. All the bestLiam
