Wow... thanks guys for all the feedback!!! I wrote this just about a year ago and it finally feels like it's on the right track. I put up the lyrics... I thought everyone would know it by heart by now it's been up so much but happy to oblidge ...Vince.... thanks, I was/have been having trouble deciding on the snare sound for this... see what you mean, doesn't cut through.... will bump up that harmony....Casey.... thanks, I understand what you mean about the "Superstar" hook... I mean SNL isn't even good anymore .... "Rock Star" is taken... I'll poke around.... on the drawn out Superstaaaaaaaaar ( ) ... was just trying to ensure a distinctive chorus/verse change... and no offense at the "hire out" suggestion... no illusions here concerning my playing skills but unfortunately not much money either !RLD .... thanks for the listen.... I might try to kick it up a few bpm... was going for dark guits, so thanks... Kinda see what you mean on the drums in the chorus... will tweak...Warren .... thanks buddy, I think we just have to take the vocals one more time to tighten them up.... glad you like itKitz... thanks... yeah, my wife showed me a pic of Mrs. Cruise with a $10,000 purse and the song kinda wrote it self from there!!Zoom..... thanks for the mix pointers, really need help there.... on the vocals I just doubled the choruses... at the moment the lead is slightly to the right (+5) and the double left (-10)... I'll try centering lead and moving double a little more off center.... I plan on dropping rim shot but keeping Kick in the intro...Bill.... thanks..tt .... I think so too, maybe my favorite word of all time!!Chris... thanks for the listen!!OK, I'm off to tweak, thanks guys!!Peace, Geo

Not sure if that was clear. That was a bit tongue in check on my part... I was going for a darker sound.. normally use a Strat style sound but read in the genre of Modern Rock humbuckers and a fatter/darker sound are more the rave now..... but I do think I went a little far... thanks again Peace, Geo

GeoDid you ship this baby out to get tweaked, or are you just getting that good with production?really clean.I agree with bill about not having any original technical comments after what you have received.Loved the harmonies. Some of the vox in the bridge gets almost lost.I bet you could send this to the ditz you are singing about and it would not even register.I expect to see this up here again in a few weeks and on and on until it is, you know, "perfect"!!Paul

This reminds me of DEVO in the verse. Crack that whip! It grew on me as a listened.

I haven't read the previous posts yet, just right into it. First impression is the intro is cool, nice guit tone for sure. Voice reminds me of Weird Al Yankovich... This is a fun comedy rock tune, no question. Great harmony vocals. Good production, nothing sticking out, good balance. I like this, it also got a Bare Naked Ladies concept, Canada's top ranked comedy rockstars, give them a google as I'd ala this for sure... GREAAT JOB!!!

Great tune Geo!!! I'm laughing along with this...brilliant!I'm on the lousy laptop soundcard, so I'll leave production tips to folks with better gear.Regarding Casey's "superstar" line being potentially dated, I can see his point. The words that came to me were "you're just a paper star" instead of "you think you're a superstar". Connotates the flimsy, money, lack of substance, headlines, going to burst into flames because it's so rediculous a concept kinda thing.Thought I'd throw that out there in case it helps the "uniqueness" angle....I'm on my 3rd listen "...still it's better than your half time show..." bwahaha!Funny how $10 000 would mean so much to basically anyone, and you can (accurately) rhyme off a dozen wasted wads....you nailed it!
