ok, this is VERY VERY NICE, corny in the good 60's way,,,stellarthe short and sweet guitar solo is just fine to my ears guys...one question--1) in the vocal presentation, was the seemingly (knowing you guys...) intentional a bit NON CLARITY of the vocal to make it sound more authentic? if so, cool, but the only thing i personally would love to hear is just bit more clarity--don't know what you did there billy, and it is sweet, but a bit more clarity and send 'er in..hey casey and bill, other than that, and again, might be on purpose...rascals...i think you're ready with this.... very nice repro!!!!the best,warren

Hey Warren, Bob had mentioned that he thought the top end was a bit much for the authentic 60s vibe which I thought was a good point, so I ran the mix through my outboard tube compressor/limiter and it knocked some of the crispies off & warmed things up a lot I thought. I know it's a modern trend to get as much high end as you can get out of something But I certainly wasn't going for "non clarity" as you put it LOL.

Yes, it certainly did warm it up. I'd pmd Casey about this earlier and I'm really glad you could do something about the crispness because it sounds very warm and 60s-ishI really like this new version. Jayke says "woof"

Thanks Anne. There is a setting on Voxengo's "Soniformer" plugin called 'tape compression' that I like. I used that on the mix and then ran it through an outboard stereo tube compressor/limiter. I think the combination works pretty well for getting a 'retro' sound.Tell Jake I said "woof, woof" (he'll know what I'm talking about)-

Casey, Bill,This sounds really good. New lyric is working well, imo. Good job with the vocals. Guitar solo does seem a bit out of character with the rest of the song. Sounds a bit like a 'surf guitar' .. Hawaii-5-0 theme song style.DeanPS I've heard a lot of Bill's songs, but I wouldn't have guessed this was him singing. (This comment is independent of the good vocals comment .. lol)

This is sounding good.Still not sure about that lead though.That guitar intro was reminding me of something,and I only just remembered: Bread's "Dismal Day".Not the same as, just style.

Guit solo might not remind me of 5-0, could be WipeOut or some Beach Boys song or ... fuzzy memory .. important thing is not what it reminds me of .. but that I do think it is a bit out of place in this song.Dean
