howdy kitz!have i heard this before? it is familiar, but i'm sure it was YOU, anyway, truly wonderful tune, the ONLY thing i'm hearing in the listen, is your (you? hope so..) anyway, is a few places, it seems that some of the words are a bit lost in the mix, not seriously--i know it's a quiet vocal btw, but in just a few places early on, though i can hear the words (which i ALWAYS DEMAND, that's what they're for, no?...lol) i think a few need to be brought up just a bit--but you'll need to hear it first, and if you don't, then do NOT screw with it...and it's something i can't you which ones (i can...but if YOU don't hear it, and nobody else has commented, then it's just me being picky...beautiful job,all the best, warren

Thanks Tele,When I click on a link like this it opens up another window with the URL listed and then opens up the default media player on my computer which is windows media player and then plays.Have you got a default player for mp3 files? If so what are you using?Warren, yea I put it up a while back as For Everyman and got some great feedback from you guys - I tried all the ideas and this is what I got. I noticed a little distortion in this mix in a few spots and am working on it's sounds overall. Will listen for the vocal deficit. I am so tired of it!!! I did it about a 2 weeks ago and got what I wanted and then my computer crashed and I lost it. Had to start all over and it's been quite a long intensive learning process. Not to mention the time it took to get old blue back online. Oh well, thanking my lucky stars I didn't lose anything else!! Had it backed up. Lost a lot of stuff that was just taking up space. Here's a tip for protools users - don't store your songs in the Digidesign Databases directory on any hard drive in your system. That directory is created by protools and deleted by protools should you decide to reinstall protools. At least that appears to be the forensic I have established. Maybe I didn't read the instructions well enough...Kitz

Like I said in my PM, this is great imo. Guitar work makes me jealous, the sound could possibly benefit from some "warming up" but the playing is perfect to my ears . . . & the lyrics are timeless which is hard to pull of.

Hi Kitz,Super job my friend! I really enjoyed it (and was compelled to play it again).I can't judge lyrics, but I relate to your sentiments about being a parent.I loved your chord changes and the melodic phrasing too. Very polished! The only thing I wanted was a more lyric cello solo. I can't say that it fell neatly in place. The cello at the end however was right in the pocket. On another "note" - I can never play Quicktime songs on my PC (perhaps I need an upgrade on QT). I am using my wife's Mac presently and, of course, there wasn't a problem.Best wishes,Al

Kitz,I got it to stream this time. I've reviewed this song somewhere else before--on Broadjam, maybe? In any case, I like it a lot. I agree with Al's comment about the cello solo and hear a very slight muddiness in the low end, like there's a little too much content competing there. You might have to rollo off one of the instruments if it's not just my ears.Vince

YES, THAT'S IT--i'm not nuts (well...a matter of opinion...)i loved it as i remember but mentioned jackson browne's album name/cut, and man you've done well...yeah, warm is a good way to put the vocal "fix" on her, if she needs it...and nope i agree with billy, i had/have NO other comments on anything--zero...splendidvery nice job, can't wait to hear whatever you change in the vox, if indeed you do at all...now i'm not hragging, but i'll put my big ears up against anybody's, though i may be terrible at 'splaining stuff...but with lead vocals, sometimes it IS a matter of preference in the mix. so have fun--either way, she's a winner man!the best, warren

Nice job on the guitar, cello and overall production work, kitz! Really pleasing to the ears! You might consider taking a look lyrically at narrowing the focus a bit. It took me from war to closing factories to having sons old enough for military service to having little ones. You might get a little more bang-for-buck if you expanded on just one of these areas. Food for thought.Overall, good job!

Thanks Jonathanm, I wrote this as a wandering mind. There are so many problems in the world that it's hard to focus and set priorities and that's part of what this song is about. I did think about your suggestion when I was writing this and decided to portray the thoughts bouncing back and forth and around in my head just like that, bouncing around and wandering. It may be a mistake not to have taken your advice but I am unable to change the lyric at this point as it is planted on the 2 track mix I am working with. It's soft but it's there. Anyway thanks.I have just put up a version that I hope addresses the issues you guys have made me aware of in the past few days. It's at the same link as above. Thanks for your help everyone!!! Gotta go make dinner now...Kitz
