Hey Vikki,I'm especially happy to listen and comment as you've been so generous with your own participation on the boards!Great sound here with lots of space and separation and authentic-sounding instrumentation. Super mix and production. I assume your goal is TV/film cue as it seems especially suited for that, with its consistent feel and rhythm, but lack of melody.The "instrument" that comes in during the break at 2:26 put the piece a little more in the electronica realm for me and I thought that detracted from the otherwise organic feel.Hope to hear more of your stuff in the future!Vince

I really like your stuff, Vikki! This feels a bit like an action-movie piece, something where the hero and his team of native guides are exploring an area of the jungle where the world-famous archaeology professor (and his beautiful daughter) were last heard from. Love the use of space, and the way the tune progresses and changes. Definitely has an electronic, maybe even trance-ish feel to it, with a worldly flavor. best, gw

That's great. I think you're very adventurous as a composer and it really works in this. I like all the different influences, world, techno, avante garde all mixed together, it suggests a number of different emotions all at once, which might make it useful in a variety of film/tv settings. Nice Vikki.Very atmospheric.Conjures up quite a selection of movie scenarios.I was thinking it was a bit long, but then realised the track was half way through replay.

Love the start - super tension with world music!The change up at :42 is really abrupt imho - maybe if there was more carrying over of an 1/8 or 1/16 note percussive element somehow to bridge it? I totally "get" the change in beat - which is a cool idea - but its a harsh change to me. The 2:26 change is really cool - I like the new sound and the way you incorporate it back in with the instruments from the first section. Very adventurous and very tense piece.

I'm curious about that ..

(I have a mistrust of books, CDs, DVDs & on-line resources... not that they are bad in themselves... but they offer no feedback, thereby leaving the student 'teaching themselves', not knowing if they've understood instructions or if they're 'doing it right'. IMO the best way is to work one-on-one live and in person with someone who is experienced and listening to the student with all their senses, and can give instant guidance.)
