Damn Bill... seems like you write a lot of tunes, and they're all good! Very impressive. To me you've nailed the '60s sound, if not exactly the Byrds. Seems to me they had a little more of a raw edge than your production, but there's no doubt to me who it sounds like.Cam

You sold me man.I would bring the vocals up a tad however. That's really my only beef with it listening through laptop speakers. In a headset I might view it differently, but as of right now, vocals need to be louder.Very, very convincing and I agree with some others that you did a spledid job recreating that era's sound. I was really taken back from it to be honest. You did not even have to mention the "byrds" relation and it would have hit me almost instantly anyway. Very, very well done my friend. The song is the perfect length for this genre. The sound captures exactly what I think you were going for. The vocals fit right into a sound left ages ago. Great work.Absolutely loved the addition of the harmonica. I was about 2 seconds away from saying to myself, "ok, something needs to happen to change it up," and along comes the harmonica section. Outstanding.Great feel all around. On top of that, you really don't want to focus too much on the production of this. In order to really stay true to that sound, one needs to steer away from an overly produced track. I think what you have sounds straight from a record.. ..minus the needle scratches.

Thanks everyone. The new version is up . . . I boosted the vocals which seemed to be on everybody's list! (seems like it always is) & I tried some things for the 12 string sound but I think I'm just gonna leave it unless my buddy comes over with his ric. Thanks a lot, here goes another five bucks -

Bill,Man, I love this track. Heck, I'd do a cover of it. Now the jingle jangle guitar sounds a bit too overpowering...I wouldn't want them to pass on it because they don't understand that the Byrds really did do it that way

Yeah Glenn, it's pretty jangly. This is the same guitar mix but with some edgier eq. What I lack in string count I make up for in treble! What I tried to do is sort of a caricature of the Byrd's sound with the ultra edgy jangle against the more smooth (overdubbed like crazy) vocals. That's the way they sounded in my mind but when I went back & listened to a bunch of their songs the vocals weren't always so smooth & the guitars were sometimes just plain "thin". Hopefully it's close enough in "vibe" for the ala Byrds listing. If not . . . get ready for a rant
