ahh yes Devin! its great to be a musical $lut!:Dwe are so $lutty ..when down the way...the songs hanging out getting their hair done at the parlor say"OMG! look at those two music hussies! they should be ashamed of themselves!" and we just ignore them as we spot a few sexy rock n countrytunes that look like they are tourists and then proceed to try and pick 'em up with our $kills

Re: rockin gritty?
yeah Paul, Kitza bridge-type thing would be cool in this song..this tune was actually was a fluke...our drummer started laying this double bass 16th note-drillyour-head-in-with-a-dull-chopstick kind of thing and i followedon bass...we stuck one different progression in there(the chorus)and then went out to drink ourselves a shade of neon green;)so if one would ask.." guys! where's the bridge?"we would probably then say "eahhhh? ahhhh! teh brige iz over'dere!, we jus fel off it akjully!"yup Warren..thats me on the left: )

The Music Supervisor for these shows needs to hear a variety of"gritty rock" - styles can range from Rockabilly, Punk, Swamp Rock, Metal,Southern Rock, etc. The pace needs to be fast and the tone should bewacky, high energy, dirty and fun. You can think in the reference range ofBlack Flag, Hank Williams III, Suicidal Tendencies, Reverend Horton Heat,Social Distortion, Minutemen, etc. Songs with vocals and instrumentalswill be considered - be sure the tempos are fast and the vibe is grittyand "down & dirty". There are no lyrical restrictions here, but the toneshould match that of the music - instrumentals are okay too. You can alsothink along the lines of the music behind "Jackass", for more directionand inspiration. -------------I'm not an expert at interpreting the listings but in my honest opinion, I don't think your song hits the target. I highlighted 2 phrases in the listing. Two times they mention that the pace and tempo of the song needs to be fast. I don't think your song is fast enough or is high energy enough. Give a listen to Horton Heat's "Pyschobilly Freakout" song from his Smoke 'em If You Got 'em album - http://www.amazon.com/Smoke-If-You-Got- ... 1&sr=1-2.I think that's more along the lines of what they're looking for, but again, that's just my opinion.hope that helps,-Big Blue

The best word that describes this is 'pulsating,' but it works....great work, Geoff. I'm no expert on the listings either, sorry can't help you there.

Re: rockin gritty?
Hey Geoff - I really like this. Nice 'n heavy, and there's definitely a Suicidal Tendencies thing going on. It wasn't in the listing, but I'm hearing a bit of Motley Crue in here too! The guitar solo is a bit bright but other than that totally kick ass.To answer your question - I'd submit this one. One comment though if you don't mind....I know this is supposed to be for a cue, but if we're talking about the song as a whole, there's one thing I noticed. To me, the intro part doesn't really fit. I know you come back to this riff at the end but the mix is completely different at that point. IMO, it's so different the result is that it's more of just an outro for the song and may as well not have been there at the start. It might help if the riff was mentioned again somewhere in the song, maybe after the solo or something, but as it is, if you took it out completely, I don't think it would hurt the tune. (Also the timing is a bit off, which, in addition to the mix being disconnected from the rest, doesn't help set up the song very well -JMHO!) Why not start with a couple bars of just the guitars from the riff that's under the first verse? I love that!Good luck!-AR
